Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: Fernando Alonso returns to taste the honey of the triumph

Fernando Alonso commented on Thursday, had to start slashing differences with Sebastian Vettel in the award of Great Britain or were despidian of the options in the drivers Championship. The Spanish is grabbed to options that have emerged in the race and took the victory. A victory not achieved since the great prize of Korea South of last season.
It must not overlook the fact that he was favored by the retention was Sebastian Vettel at his second pit stop. The German lost enough time as Fernando Alonso it went you their way through boxes. Despite this, Ferrari 150 ° Italy of the Spanish showed that today was the rival to beat at Silverstone. The Asturian had a brutal pace that, once in the lead, was unattainable for rivals. So much so that even allowed him sign the fastest race lap.
The rain was a small hassle in the home. This fact forced fitting tyres intermediates in the first stages of the test. The snatch went to see compromised by this. It was going to have to tread with very careful to avoid shocks. The proceedings went without hardly surprises, with the exception of Felipe Massa to tracciono and who taught a little nose. There was to be the thing because Alonso retained third place before dealing with the first curve.

The first laps the Spanish it took with relative calm. The track was not too many joys and third place was a good place to see the horizon. At times approached Mark Webber, but when the Australian was put to shooting it found the pace that had suffered.
Came the first stops in boxes and produced characteristic dance positions. The logical intermediate change occurred by soft and began a new career. Lewis Hamilton took advantage of having stopped a little earlier than Ferrari, which had its characteristic problems to warm up the tires in the early laps. The Spanish momentarily lost the third place for the English. Once tyres reached its ideal operating temperature, Alonso regained the lost ground, and he easily disposed of the English. He began his particular fight against the clock to catch up with the Red Bull.
The final shift occurred at the second pit stop. Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel did not have the sort of face and took over the account to change tires. Fact that took advantage of Fernando Alonso for auparse to the first position. Plaza that will leave in the remainder of test. Today was the day to re-edit the triumph.

In the last stint, Fernando Alonso rolled more than one second per lap faster than Sebastian Vettel. The only ones that managed to lower the 1: 36 regular and constant in the final moments of the trial were both Ferrari. If there is something in what the Spanish is unbeatable is set to roll as a clock lap after lap.
From there until the end nothing happened rarely and the Asturian took the victory. Victoria very elaborate a Fernando Alonso who succeeded in keeping with a cool head in the early stages and when it was exceeded by Lewis Hamilton, moment in which was relegated to the fourth position.
With all the Spanish stays at 92 points of Sebastian Vettel. They are ten Grands Prix ahead, 250 points at stake, and demonstrations such as the today invites us to not lose hope. It is very difficult to fight for the Championship, but in formula one, everything is possible. And it should not be forgotten that the Silverstone Circuit was, a priori, better for Red Bull to Ferrari.

Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: a significant victory for Fernando Alonso

Spectacular the race at Silverstone, starting with the uncertainty at the time of departure by the situation of the track (dry in one hand, very wet elsewhere) and continuing with the development of a test in which there have been quite a few surprises. Fernando Alonso has today been factors in favour and has achieved an overwhelming victory. He has shot very quickly, a second faster than Vettel at the end of the race. Even Massa was second pilot faster at end of race. Errors of the RedBull in boxes have the lace to the race, but it must be said that today, the pace of Ferrari was incredible.
At Silverstone, where last year hit rock bottom in a matter of results and radically changed the orientation of the season. It is very significant and gives insurance much morale to the team and Fernando Alonso. The victory has finally been bulging while behind it attached "in joke" Vettel and Webber (who have not stopped advancing), and be attached in serious Hamilton and Massa.

The focus of attention now is that Fernando Alonso and Ferrari, and Felipe Massa and Ferrari. The two have had a very good rhythm this race, what happens is Massa not him have left things as well, and since then at the end of the race we have seen how passing Lewis Hamilton and he returned the play with a little more strength.
Both Vettel Webber well started the race, Vettel exit was done with the first position while Webber had to settle for second place containing a little to the Ferrari Alonso. Hamilton went very well and Button maintained with options until a nut let him out of the race. Over the course of the laps and towards the end of the test, Webber was going much faster than Vettel and have simply not made advance. Embarrassing, really.
Soon we will review in more depth the race, the different fronts of the race, but for now we are left with this: Fernando Alonso WINS at Silverstone, the circuit where in 2010 bottomed in athletic performance. Soon we are back with more analysis on this great career which brought us a victory that we expected this year.

Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: Mark Webber gets pole position

Nine of nine, the Red Bull pole this year. Tenth continuously, if we take into account the Abu Dhabi 2010, and the third consecutive at Silverstone. Mark Webber takes pole position in a final session marked by a few drops of water that have "killed" a possible final emocioante with three drivers on the grid with options primers.
Sebastian Vettel will accompany the other Red Bull in the first row of the grid, while the second row will be all red with Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa. Come in pairs, and the third row will have the colors of the "Union Jack", with Jenson Button and Paul di Resta. The seventh position is for a particularly inspired Pastor Maldonado, who will be accompanied by Kamui Kobayashi.
The dedepcion of the day is perhaps the tenth place of Lewis Hamilton, that despite everything, will be spared tyres that he very well could go tomorrow. He will be accompanied in the fifth row of the grid by Nico Rosberg, the first of the two Mercedes in a not particularly good session for the silver arrows. Schumacher said, a good result could be achieved only with rain on Sunday.
On the topic of the weekend, in principle it seems that all of the teams has imposed limit of 10% of expulsion of gases, and a meeting will take place the next week to decide as the case in the following races is. Christian Horner said, outside of cameras and microphones, who believes that his team competes in less favourable conditions, this weekend.

Grand Prix of Great Britain 2011 F1: Renault engines may not blow at 50% as the Mercedes

The controversy has come to an end, or at least for now. Renault engines are not so limited as the rest, the Mercedes. This means that the propellers, with the exception of the Mercedes, will only allowed blow to 10 per cent to 18. 000rpm during braking. Germans on the other hand can do up to 50% reliability issues.
The decision of the FIA this morning not has established nothing well to Red Bull if we stick to what indicates Autosport. On the fly, both Christian Horner and Adrian Newey has been search and capture of Charlie Whiting to discuss the issue. Yesterday Renault had received the go-ahead to make their engines pumped 50% of the gas in braking, such as the Mercedes are allowed.
Update: the Mercedes engines are allowed to inject gasoline by 50 per cent of the cylinder during braking to ensure the reliability of the engine have been designed to work that way.
The FIA to vary still entangled more account. There is no more than read the press conference in which Christian Horner and Martin Whitmarsh took all the attention. As always the regulator comes late to take action on the operation of the diffuser blown during braking. Thus the credibility of formula one, are loading if it is that you still have credibility. It seems the FIA to legislate based on whims and upstream.
What may not be is that some enjoy certain favoritism, see Mercedes, and others not, see Red Bull and the other teams. It should be for all or for any coffee. Nothing beautiful children who play with advantage for whatever reason. If you're not distorting the rules of the game.
Rules of the game which perhaps never existed to change them the FIA as it pleases and when he comes in WINS. Do not realize the damage they are doing to formula one, although surely seek whatever controversy and grab the attention of the media, the best way to do free advertising.

Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: Jaime Alguersuari fails to pass to the Q2 but beat Sebastien Buemi

Although Jaime Alguersuari has not managed to go to the Q2, finished ahead of Sebastien Buemi. The Catalan pilot come from eighteenth position, and unfortunately the rain has prevented getting (or try) in the Q2. You have done, it could perhaps have won some positions that not go you bad face the morning race.
Catalan pilot has struggled with desire, and indeed when it has started to rain, has been on track if it stopped raining and the track was not sufficiently wet, although in the end the sky has been downloaded and it has been forced to renounce their options. Therefore, another career dating from the eighteenth position, but it leave ahead of his teammate will offset relatively.
In fact, although the goal of Jaime has to be a good result, and not focus too much on what makes your partner, it is clear that his first opponent is Sebastien Buemi, is with whom you are going to compare, it would be normal that was relatively satisfied. In the face of tomorrow, there are real options do well, having saved tyres, as it did in Valencia.
Today was a good chance of being among the top diez-doce, because to not be able to used the DRS when it rains, we would have better pace. Tomorrow the race will probably be dry and soft tyres have a large difference to the hard. We have options to do well in career.

Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: Fernando Alonso will be third at Silverstone

Rain has turned into a small hassle in the classification of Grand Prix of Great Britain. Fell some drops in the Q1 and somewhat less in the Q3, although sufficiently that pilots andaran walked carefully. The best times were recorded in the first attempt in the Q3, what that ultimately served to Fernando Alonso to go third in the race Sunday morning.
This time will not be Sebastian Vettel as far as German concluded second and will be the first opponent will be Fernando Alonso in the snatch. The Ferrari has been at 117 thousandths of Mark Webber pole.
In the Q1 it limited to set a good time and otherwise butterfly, not without shocks. He lost control in one of the curves, but it managed to avoid impacting against the protections, not without a long excursion through the gravel. The rain was virtually ruled out for the day on Saturday, but made an appearance and upset the plans that had not done the homework in time. Fernando Alonso passed smoothly to the Q2.

With the track still slightly wet because the drops that fell in the final moments of the Q1, the Spanish pilot did not hurry to go out to shoot. When did it, he left with the tyres soft to avoid setbacks. His first attempt took things in stride, but in the second as took it seriously which served to mark the third best Cronus.
At the moment of truth, the Q3, the best times were recorded in the first attempts of the Favorites, with Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel fastest. There was a feint to try again, but the rain had slightly wet asphalt and the cronos hardly going to improve, so everyone went by where it came from.
Morning did not rule out that it could be the rain. In a climate as changeable and special as it is the British, anything can happen. For now Fernando Alonso will be well placed in the grid and aspires to everything. The victory? I her don't exclude tomorrow at Silverstone.

Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: third-party free with Sebastian Vettel head to Ferrari in Uptown

Third session of free practice with Sebastian Vettel at the head and both Ferrari to the attack. Indeed, cars of Maranello are the only ones that have been able to mingle with the all-powerful Red Bull this morning. Although this does not mean anything, because workouts will compete from the two, and then we will see the reality, these results encourage Italians.
This third meeting has played under the shadow of the controversy on the prohibition of the blown diffusers. This morning we learned that ban has been scheduled before arriving at Silverstone, theoretical except for the Mercedes engines. Therefore, we have not seen nor Christian Horner and Adrian Newey for much of the morning, reaching to the wall of boxes only fifteen minutes to the end.
In addition, their statements when they left the meeting with the FIA ("No comment") showed little satisfaction in what will be talked about there. In any case, Horner has promised to talk to the press on the subject, although it will be later in the day, and not now. As for sports, Fernando Alonso in second position and Jaime Alguersuari 16th but ahead of his teammate.
For some, special mention to Daniel Ricciardo, who is already faster than Vitantonio Liuzzi. I have to admit that he hoped that the Australian would be faster than the Italian, but by no means expected to happen already here in England. Looked it more likely more later, but since then, this is a surprise (relative, obviously). Now he must wait for the classification.
Another important thing to say is that the traditional "abyss" between the "old" equipment and "new" given today after Heikki Kovalainen. The Finn is less than four seconds of the best time to four-tenths of Nick Heidfeld, which precedes, and 1.7 seconds ahead of teammate Jarno Trulli. Applause for Kovalainen, who is giving the best of if same each weekend with the Lotus, and that in the end it shows.

Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: free first with Mark Webber first

After the first session of free practice for the Grand Prix of Great Britain 2011, the overall impression is that we still do not know nothing of what awaits us, partly because of the rain and partly because Mark Webber has been the fastest eventually (with the track and throwing dry) while Sebastian Vettel is ranked 13th. Not be if that rain conditions may not appreciate the difference in performance, or is that once again we are in front of a farce during the free turns in masterful pole on Saturday at noon.
Quite acceptable two Ferrari's performance, with Fernando Alonso leading the table during times of rain, many incidents in form of track outputs and a relatively strong blow to Kamui Kobayashi, and the note curious to see Lewis Hamilton riding slicks when even rained. It is always surprising.

As we say, many spins and exits of track, the first to open the veda was Fernando Alonso in his return from installation, doing a spin likely to tempt the limits of adhesion, followed by Buemi with passing of braking and walk through the gravel. A Buemi which incidentally has been behind Jaime Alguersuari (1 tenth slower), being Catalan the fourth classified during the first part of the training, in wet conditions.
Kobayashi (first with a small output and then with a blow that we discuss shortly), Vettel, Sergio Perez, Michael Schumacher… are drivers who have had encounters with the outer part of the track in a well wet session. Kobayashi accident was precisely on the goal line, when entering long past stepped on the Green surface with two left wheels, and stepping in a show of optimism, continued on to fund when it lost control and crashed into the barriers. Perhaps avoidable, since then a blow and an unexpected expense for Sauber.
With respect to the Red Bull, as I have said nothing to mention except for tours of Vettel, the first in the first curve, perhaps too accustomed to the total grip, but really there is nothing to indicate we have difficulties airlifts in comparison with previous Grands Prix. Later, while he was detained in boxes, we have seen leaving a suspicious of his smoke, but the thing has not passed for the elderly. We do not know if it could be the KERS, but it had similarities to the incident of Webber with the same weeks ago.
Hamilton with slicks while the track was still wet was one of the curiosities of this session, more than anything because it maintained a rate too low in a sustained manner, with small outputs of the trajectory, and the truth, the reasons for that test unknown them. Later with the dry track relevant times he could do, but this evidence at that time did not understand it too.
As a final note, we saw Webber with the car stopped at the pit entrance once finished the meeting, without gasoline? Another problem? Vote for the first option because I did not understand if they said something on the radio, but the engine was switched off. In two hours we will focus on the second session of free, you no falteis.

Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: free seconds with Felipe Massa commanding

Quite boring for more than 45 minutes meeting that did not leave any single-seater for the given track conditions which was wet but not power and with a quite important shower. In the second half, were slowly coming to track all pilots to assess conditions and times were down, but with some parsimony. The truth is that you there are little relevant to count at a meeting in which seem to all have dedicated to file with the few tests that have been carried out.
With ten minutes to the end of the same Webber leading the table ahead of Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher, while Sebastian Vettel was put in a single round the seventh behind Sutil, Buemi and Alguersuari. It has in fact fallen (Vettel) away from the car as if things weren't with him. I already say that little chicha in general, until the last three minutes...

Five minutes from the end none of the McLaren had set a time, something of relevance if possible because it seemed that the thing would look like. Several problems of grip for Hamilton brought him to number 11 in the absence of less than four minutes, and Button little was known.
That if, at the last minute all at a, as Fuenteovejuna, and Nico Rosberg first did with the first place, Hamilton with the second who immediately stole Kobayashi (already replenished the problems of the first session), Button was fourth and Perez fifth. But not just there the thing because it would be Di Resta to the fifth relegating Perez in seventh place. Seventh? Yes, because Massa marked a 1: 49.967 for first place. More changes, but we can already see this in the time table. Ferrari first free seconds, a little crazy and much boredom to then give a reasonably fast lap in the conditions of the track.

Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: the previous Red Bull

We turn the close circuit of Valencia to the redesigned layout of Silverstone. The British Grand Prix continues the tradition and its taste with their quick linked, but has also added new curves the last sectors that have done the delights of the pilots who have tried.
All this added to a new Pit Lane, who has even a small area of grass between the jobs that are engineers during the race and the boxes of equipment. In Red Bull is considered the home Grand Prix, as the circuit is located 37 km from the Milton Keynes factory. 52 laps in a layout of 5.891 meters that will has been test pilots with their 18 curves.

Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: analysis of Silverstone

We finally arrived at Silverstone, a test in which the main look it is going to be placed in the beginning of the era blown diffuser post and how it will affect the performance of all competitors, especially of Red Bull. Silverstone is a critical championship point lately, because for example 2010 marked a turning point, either the moment of hitting bottom for Fernando Alonso. From Silverstone things changed and we had a new season, a minitemporada which led us to the most competitive end that recalls.
The intrinsic Silverstone speed is part of its charm, and with the amendments which entered into force in 2010 stays within the fastest of the calendar, with two curves of "background" some 280 km/h. The wear of tyres here is anyone's guess, but with data from 2010 in hand we can expect "Arena" section be especially harsh on the tires last weekend.
Tyres Pirelli leading to Silverstone this weekend, we already know will be hard and soft so we have two main problems to be taken into account by the teams: wear soft as opposed to the speed may experience, and the length of the hard, contrasting with the hypothetical slow take temperature depending on weather conditions.
From Club to Aintree gums will suffer more because as we said at the two curves of high speed (Abbey and Farm Curve), as well as the strong braking for The Loop. G-forces, aerodynamic support in high speed and the ability to cope with the changes of address without any problems will be the keys to this part of the circuit. It is immediate to think that the advantage of Red Bull might be committed here, but as already mentioned at other times, so the car from rolling this Friday we can know nothing at all.
In general a demanding circuit for the commissioning, a circuit that last year wasn't anything good for the F10 and this year brings two big unknowns as they are the performance of the tires and see what happens with the prohibition of the blown diffusers. We have very little to start enjoying that undoubtedly is the Grand Prix with more unknowns of the year. Will we see a shift in perspective this 2011? We will be left as usual?

Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: compounds selected by Pirelli

From the Grand Prize of Spain in Montmelo, Pirelli not brought the hard tyres, and after three races in general quite softer tyres, the Italian brand will lead to Great Britain, the same tire that we saw in the first five races of the season. We'll see how behave tyres as the Silverstone Circuit.
The choice for the English circuit, so it will be the hard and the soft tyre (Option) (Prime). The choice is logical, since Silverstone is a fast and soft tyres could spend too easily. But in spite of this, if it is cold, something that is never disposable in Great Britain, the problem could be another, and that the tyres harder cost them take temperature.
According to Pirelli, the pneumatic hard will serve to make the longer stints, for what you have chosen to bring soft rather than the medium tyre, so that teams have a tire that demonstrate its speed. The Italian brand expected this difference of compounds to create situations donde see different experiences with similar results.

Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: schedules

Then from the unbearable toston Grand Prize of Europe's formula 1 for two weeks ago, it is up to the turn of one of the most traditional of the competition, the Grand Prix of Great Britain. The circuit of Silverstone will welcome the great circus with a spectacular facelift after profound remodelling carried out to modernize the facilities. Improvements which have cost more than 30 million euros, including a new pitlane presdido by a spectacular building.
Unlike Montreal and Valencia racing at Silverstone will be only an area of DRS. To compensate for it, is over the invention of blown diffusers. In the English test could see some that another surprise following the ban imposed by the FIA. Or not. To not miss out we leave the schedules below. We can see if Red Bull remains the reference, or, on the other hand, are those most affected by the measure.

Daniel Ricciardo could replace Narain Karthikeyan from the Grand Prix of Great Britain [confirmed]

Surprising news the world of formula one is full. Today we are told that Daniel Ricciardo could replace Narain Karthikeyan from Grand Prix of Great Britain. Although where I say "could replace", it seems that it would have to say "replace", since on that rumored, the negotiations will be already very advanced, yet determined.
That Ricciardo has surprised all the world is no longer anything new, and Toro Rosso le has been testing this season during the Friday, to give him more experience, and has continued earning good results comparable to those of Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari, with more experience in formula 1 he. Red Bull had hoped that Daniel could debut this year at Toro Rosso.
But they found something not expected, and that the two pilots of the Red Bull junior team is paying good level. Sebastien Buemi has been perhaps more constant but Jaime Alguersuari has had some touches of brilliance this season, and their flyers seemed already secure, prior to this news. Ricciardo was left without debuting this year... or not.
Toro Rosso would have negotiated with Hispania Racing F1 Team for the Australian pilot's debut as the next week in formula one, taking the place of Karthikeyan until end of season. There would be an exception to all this, and is that Karthikeyan would drive for the Grand Prize of the India, as it must stipulate the contract with Tata.
In principle, it seems that Red Bull wants to find out how competitive can be Ricciardo, and her ideas with Liuzzi, which was already in Toro Rosso in his day. The contract would be until the end of the year, and for 2012, Ricciardo would be transferred to Toro Rosso and Red Bull, if their results were very good, or of his "rivals" it were not for nothing. You will have to wait to see if it is confirmed officially.
Update: Hispania Racing F1 Team has confirmed what was already supposed to; Daniel Ricciardo will make his debut with them in the formula for the award of Great Britain next week.

The Grand Prix of Great Britain will issue a ruling on the blown diffusers

Despite the prohibition of the engine map between classification and career change, there was no expected changes. Theoretically that should leave hurt with the measure, the Red Bull, returned to get a double. Charlie Whiting spoke of half a second difference, but everything seems to indicate that beyond an accounting difference, the secret of Red Bull is beyond of the engine map and rivals and FIA are still without having any idea of what it is.
For Grand Prix of Great Britain, the FIA banned the blown diffusers (expulsion of more than 10% of gases in braking) measure that should have a more negative effect on the single-seater for Milton Keynes but that will have negative effects on all the teams. For this reason, Stefano Domenicali said that Silverstone can see who is the main harmed following the decision of the FIA. It seems that some team leader is not so clear that the prohibition of the FIA will reduce the benefits of Red Bull. Perhaps then we discover some not awaited surprise.
