GP3 Europe 2011: victories by Adrian Quaife-Hobbs and James vessels, Mitch Evans is leader of the Championship

This past weekend was held the third meeting of the GP3 2011 in Europe with WINS of Adrian Quaife-Hobbs and James vessels, although Mitch Evans is positioned as leader of the Championship, taking the place of Nigel Melker. RSC Mucke pilot had a weekend to forget, and is Evans, MW Arden, who now stands out from its rivals.
The first race saw quaife-hobbs, who came from the third position of the grid, as it stood at first position only a few seconds after booting, surprise friends and strangers. From there, he led with an iron hand until the finish line. Outside of that time, there is too much excitement in the race.
One of the animators was perhaps Dean Smith, who overtook Lewis Williamson in the output, like Quaife-Hobbs, and attempted to pressure the leader of the race, but in the end his car had problems, and lost some time, reaching the final in fifth position. The second race also saw a victory with the winner to head out to tail.
In this case it was James draught, which coming from the pole position ran away from his opponents and gave no option. From behind, this time we saw an interesting fight between Valtteri Bottas, Dean Smith and Alexander Sims. The Finnish defended from attacks by Smith, while Sims was waiting for a possible error. In the end it could tell you both.
Therefore, Sims occupied the second place of the podium ahead of Bottas. Mitch Evans won a fourth very fought, demontando from the back position, while the latest positions with right to points occupied them Gabby Chaves and Lewis Williamson. In general, this weekend, we have seen better careers than in Montmelo and Turkey, despite being in the Valencia Street Circuit.
The next meeting of the Championship will be in two weeks, in Great Britainin the Silverstone Circuit. The English quote will be that mark the arrival in ecuador of the Championship, eight runs in four meetings will be held, and will be missing other eight races at four meetings over.

GP2 Europe 2011: Romain Grosjean strengthens as leader of the Championship and Esteban Gutierrez wins his first race

This weekend at the Valencia Street Circuit we have experienced a few interesting careers on the occasion of the GP2 Europe 2011 ; Romain Grosjean strengthens as leader of the Championship, after the victory in Saturday's race, Esteban Gutierrez won his first race on Sunday. The two races saw overtaking and struggles, in contrast to what was seen during the formula 1 race.
We arrived at Valencia after the weekend's Monaco with many drivers near the head of the Championship, and one of them, Charles Pic, struggled before departure, despite having achieved the pole. Bad luck for the French driver, who thus lost a great opportunity to position itself as leader of the Championship. Who take advantage of this circumstance would be his teammate.
Giedo van der Garde maintained the lead of the race, a start which saw an accident between Jules Bianchi and Marcus Ericsson, on the one hand, and another between Fabio Leimer and Alvaro Parente on the other hand. He had to leave the safety car to give time to the Commissioners to withdraw the car accident, but soon the race returned to be launched. Dani Clos, filming in third position after a fantastic start.
After the compulsory pit stops, an aggressive Luca Filippi movement ended with a touch with Dani Clos. Initially it seemed that Catalan did not have any problem arising out of the event, but when came the final laps, his right rear tire, which was the one who hit Filippi, began to lose pressure, and made him much lower pace, losing a podium more than deserved.
At the same time, during the yellow flags that released by the touch between Clos and Philippi, Van der Garde continued rolling at high rate, improving its partial. This meant a drive through (during yellow flag periods there is the so-called "Delta Time" can not be downgraded; if it is cut, this means a penalty). The Dutch pilot had to recover from the fifth position, and managed to reach second.
Dani Clos could have been second, but the low tire pressure did he could never come to attack Davide Valsecchi and in the end, which was also surpassed by a Giedo van der Garde in full recovery. Although a fourth position was a good result, I knew a little, especially for having lost a podium because of another driver. Nevertheless, the Racing Engineering was animated for the race on Sunday.
The sprint race had little history; Esteban Gutierrez, who came from the second position, took advantage of a mistake of Josef Kral in bars initials and became head, position not left until the end of the race. Romain Grosjean had to leave after a touch with Charles Pic and Rodolfo Gonzalez, a fact that behave ten positions of penalty on the grid Silverstone.
Luiz Razia also failed with Josef Kral, although he could not keep to an unleashed Gutierrez, premiered as the winner of the European GP2 before his teammate, Jules Bianchi. Giedo van der Garde back from seventh place to an interesting third place, ahead of Davide Valsecchi and Dani Clos, who could have fought for the podium, but began to lose pace in the final laps and finished in fifth position.

FIA and ACO unveil new data on the new championship of the world of resistance (WEC)

The past weekend, the FIA and ACO surprised us announcing that by 2012 it was going to create a sportscar World Championship (World Endurance Championship). A competition that would take the witnesses of the current Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ACO will serve as organizer) and that it would make it possible once and for all that the resistance had an impact at the level it deserves. But for this you need to do so under the umbrella of the FIA.
On the day of today and taking advantage of the celebration of the 24 hours of Le Mans, FIA and ACO have revealed details about the future of the world of resistance (WEC) Championship. The Championship will consist of seven tests. Three in Europe, including the 24 hours of Le Mans (the other two could be the 1000 km of Spa-Francorchamps and Silverstone), two in America (imagine that the 12 hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans) and finally two in Asia.
In sports, the sportscar World Championship will have two classifications, one for brands and one for pilots and puntuara to the current style of the formula 1 (25-18-15th)
This measure should serve to attract the attention of new gear. A Audi, Peugeot and Aston Martin should add you new rivals, perhaps from Japan, according to the true value of World Championship. Once this is done with participants of flashy, not with sounding names.
What seems clear is that the President of the FIA, Jean Todt has targeted the resistance, which got his first big successes leading Peugeot (and I speak of Le Mans, not of his victorious past with the mark of the lion in rallies and raids), and the news is good for the fans.

New championship of the world's resistance to 2012

The FIA and ACO have joined forces to organize a new championship of resistance in 2012, what would be an extension of the Intercontinental Le Mans Series, which already last year combined several events. It seems to me that this new championship can be very, very interesting, something that a little revitalize the world of the resistance, is not for nothing, is growing in relevance media every year. At least in my perception, I read and see more information each time. Perhaps the commitment to efficient driving, the engines more ecologicos… note the resistance the Championship of the future.
The calendar would have at least six tests including the 24 hours of Le Mans, and would have further points for builders and pilots, and the FIA GT Endurance World Cup would be created for builders. There are also developments with a view to next year in regards to the classes GT1, GT2 and GT3, which would be combined in a single Championship. Could compete all together in what is now the FIA GT1 World Championship, although this would require to homogenize the benefits (imagine that with weights, limiters, etc, etc). It would be a sort of "GT World class".
Is no bad thing that evolve the world of resistance, as I said before I think Championships rising and increasingly will be competitions of strength, efficiency It is something to what the industry at the end and after, and although to see who is talking about efficient driving at Le Mans, the truth is is athletically, driving much more conservative than in the Sprint races. We will see the next year, we currently have the news!

Jamie Whincup continues to increase his advantage at the head of the Championship

Today is Friday and have to remember what happened last weekend at Winton Raceway during the two rounds of the fifth event of the Australian V8 Supercars Championship. This time Jamie Whincup has certified its superiority with a victory and a second place so that even more placed at the head of the general classification of the category.

The first two rounds began with a nice part of career, and it wasn't until pit stops when Jamie managed to position itself at the forefront of the race. Whincup had to endure a few tentative attacks by the Holdsworth Holden could do nothing to prevent the victory of the leader of the general classification.

The second race left us the second win of the season to Jason Bright who managed to place ahead of Jamie Whincup after a smart strategy for use of their tires. A few more fresh tires allowed Bright overcome one one to their rivals, taking him to win the second round. The current advantage of Whincup on Lowndes stands at 250 points, important advantage when the Championship arrives already to his point average.

GP3 Series Spain 2011: Mitch Evans and Tamas Pal Kiss gain, the Championship is pressed

This past weekend, at the Circuit de Catalunya, has held the second meeting of the GP3 Series, with WINS by Mitch Evans and Tamas Pal Kiss, while Nigel Melker is still leading the Championship. However, the Championship was tight, with many drivers separated by a few points.
In the first race, Mitch Evans was lucky to keep the lead after a not especially good output, and from then on, the race did not have color. Evans held the lead until the chequered flag. James draught and Aaro Vainio completed the podium in a particularly empty race action on the track.
The second race saw also the victory of the pilot coming out from the pole. Kiss did not gave any option to rivals, leading throughout the race. Nigel Melker was placed in second position after the start, ahead of Dean Smith, who came from the front row next to Tamas Pal Kiss. However, the race did not nor too much action.
Far more chaotic test he lived at the start of the second race, with more than a single-seater permeating the engine, bypassing the output, or even both. But if in a Championship, these moments are which should bring the excitement, that means that there is something that does not work properly.
After Toyota, the GP3 took a break until the European Grand Prix, which will also be on Spanish soil. Therefore, the next meeting of the Championship will be that of the Valencia Street Circuit, where hope that racing will give us a little more than emotion. To the GP3 not him would go bad.

Ferrari did not rule out a championship of formula 1 parallel

The current Concord Pact expires at the end of 2012. By then, all the contracts of the CVC, owner of the rights of the formula one teams, come to an end. The current agreement currently covers the period 2008-2012, which means that the 31 December 2012 the teams will be free to negotiate their future.
As it is usual when the contract is approaching its conclusion, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo takes to meter asset and defend their interests. In the past, it was already agreed that the Scuderia would receive special treatment in exchange for signing the Pact of Concord, something that does not dislike them at all.
If memory serves me correctly, in the past already enjoyed the privilege of being the more money they got in the previous agreement, as well as being the only ones with right of veto. The Ferrari boss will want to continue to maintain certain privileges in the future, so it is starting to pave the ground launching poisoned darditos:
I believe that we we must be very pragmaticos. At the end of 2012 contracts each and every one of the teams with CVC will reach its conclusion. So we have three alternatives. Renew with CVC, or, as they did the team of USA with great success, we create our own company, as the NBA. We organize races, we would have the rights of television and all that. The third possibility is to look for a different partner. Bernie Ecclestone has done a great job, but it has sold its shares and is no longer the owner of the business, but CVC. In the end everything will be in the hands of the teams.
Montezemolo was clearly commenting as it presents the picture in the short term:
At the end of 2012 defeat the current contract, so CVC would have nothing. I think it is important that we have alternatives. We'll see. We have time to go.
Nothing new under the Sun. Luca Cordero di Montezemolo comes from time to time with the same mantra to get the maximum possible slice in the renewal of the Pact of Concord. Ferrari want the piece of the pie. In the past already gave its fruits, so it is not surprising that it happen again played.

The FIA is working on a Championship for electric cars

Jean Todt, the FIA President, has indicated that they are working with the European Commission to create a Championship for electric cars. Do not rule out a competition style of formula one to be held in the most important circuits on the planet.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Todt confirmed that a working group between the FIA and the European Commission has been created to study this matter. The ringleader is the former Director of BMW, Burkhard Goeschel. The most optimistic plans place its beginning in 2013, a date which is around the corner and that makes it clear that the project is serious.
This is the opinion of Jean Todt in this regard:
We have new categories with new energies as soon as possible. If we can do it across the globe, we will do so. The teams are only interested in improving the benefits because they want to win. Manufacturers have a strong interest in new technologies, something that is not so obvious in the competition because it costs money and research and does not improve performance.
The Commissioner of the European industry of automobile, Antonio Tajani, in favour of pushing for change:
One of the priorities of my mandate is to give a boost to the conversion of the European automotive industry.

Nico Rosberg: "We want to win the Championship"

Yesterday, at the Circuit de Catalunya, Motorpasion F1 was one of the first media of the entire planet to collect statements of Nico Rosberg, after achieving the fastest time in the rain on the final day of testing of the Circuit de Catalunya. The German pilot was very receptive to questions raised.
Nico pointed out to Red Bull as the favorite team for the 2011 World Championship and he explained that he was testing on the fourth day of tests because they had expected it to rain on Friday. For him it was important to test improvements in dry, to be able to adapt to the car. To be able to vote this post you must login or register here.

In addition, Rosberg was that during the offseason they had had problems specifically in his days and, therefore, they did not want his last day of preseason testing would be affected by the weather, with a flood that we saw yesterday in Montmelo.
In the day yesterday, the German pilot was unable to prove the tires of water, and said that in general hard to adapt to these weather conditions, in particular, as it was the track yesterday, with about three fingers of water in most areas of the Catalan route. Nevertheless, he was optimistic.
We want to be champions of the world, and therefore have to work more in the direction in which we are doing, that it is correct. The car feels much better two weeks ago, and that is a very good sign.

Formula 1 teams with more problems could benefit from the delay of the start of the Championship

Following the announcement, yesterday, that formula not go to Bahrain in two weeks to start the formula one world there have been many reactions. These reactions are quite a few rumors that ensure that formula with more problems teams could benefit from the delay of the start of the Championship.

Mark Webber and David Coulthard expressed its opinion in the opposite direction, ensuring that equipment had not achieved for Bahrain, won't it for Melbourne. Lewis Hamilton said he is happy that the world starts in Australia, because the team will try to regain ground. To be able to vote this post you must login or register here.

Martin Brundle, the BBC left reveals that teams like McLaren or Mercedes might be benefit from these two weeks in order to improve its speed. The objective would be the reach to the rhythm of Red Bull and Ferrari, who seem to be the strongest teams today,.

Raikkonen tests that will be held from the 8 to 11 March will be the latest formula one pre-season tests. In principle, these are which would have to be a very good indicator on "health" of the contenders for the title next season.

Ferrari presented its candidacy to the Championship

The Ferrari team is emerging as the leader of the third test of pre-season after Brazilian driver Felipe Massa gave the Maranello team in the fourth and last day of the test in Barcelona, the best absolute time.

Massa won in a simulation of rating a best time of 1: 22.625 minutes.

Massa completed a total of 121 laps on Monday and pulled out some 560 kilometres of the Ferrari engine. But also the attention focused on comparison of tires, excessive wear was found with different amounts of fuel and they have been able to evaluate different configuration options. In many long runs Massa has set the pace.

"The results of these tests are positive," said the carioca. "We have many kilometres travelled and I think our team rolled more than any other." "So I like Fernando complete race, simulation also have tested all Pirelli tyres with different levels of fuel", explained Massa.

"Sunday Rosberg, for example, was very fast." McLaren and other equipment should not be underestimated either. Where are we now in comparison with the competition? I don't know ", it clarified for leave in Barcelona with the best time. Probably need to wait a few weeks.

"Red Bull is, without doubt is very fast, that much is clear."

Bahrain cancels the opening race of formula 1 World Championship

After days of uncertainty, the decision is taken. Bahrain cancels the inaugural formula one world championship race, beginning two weeks later in Melbourne, Australia. This decision has been taken by problems that the country is going to make, to now, a grand prize as unworkable.

The Prince of Bahrain has today informed Bernie Ecclestone that they saw no possibilities for the Grand Prize be organized properly and therefore could not played. According to the Prince priority Bahrain today has to unite the country again, and overcome the tragedy. To be able to vote this post you must login or register here.

Anyway, does not preclude the possibility that the Bahrain Grand Prix can play at any other date, as in November, as already noted Hunaudieres ago hours. Of course, also isn't clear when a decision in this regard.

Probably everyone formula will attempt to the Grand Prize is dispute, albeit much later if it is really feasible, given that the economic interests of a formula one race are very high. You don't know is what will happen with The GP2 Asia Series, which currently can not play more racing.

The week after the rally. Sweden snow warms Championship

The Rally of Sweden has become two years evidence that gives the signal to the WRC season. In addition many snow has allowed to see beautiful landscapes that characterise this beautiful Scandinavian country, added clear is their beautiful women. The white element also encouraged the test with the best drivers in 2010 being very behind on the first day.

This allowed pilots such as Henning Solberg, Per Gunnar Andersson and Mads Ostberg give any to another surprise. Why I give you these pilots? So basically because they had an advantage. And it is that having previously filmed with the S2000 was something these pilots appreciated and greatly.

Although this is not to lead to confusion, because the official drivers have used the offseason as a true test shooting several thousand miles with new cars of engine 1. 600cc with turbo. Curiously coming worse test were names such as Kimi Raikkonen or Ken Block. To be able to vote this post you must login or register here.

Only Finnish has run two races on snow and the two at the controls of a Citroen C4 WRC. However, Iceman had not tried more than a single day new DS3 WRC. Despite this Kimi proved to be much more in tune than last year and scored some time to overcome even to Sebastien Loeb in a loose leg. Finally a eighth position will give encouragement to start the season.

Meanwhile Ken Block had also disputed evidence on snow in the American national, didn't know anything tyres with pins, nor his new Ford Fiesta RS WRC. If we add to this that Block has not shown, at least for now, be a superclass towards which does not fall within the Top Ten was not a big surprise.

While no doubt most striking for my was to see Sebastien Loeb in the ninth position. It is clear that a driver such as the Alsatian always made the car to your liking, and that has led over the last eight years mounts under the same rules, such a radical change will compel an adaptation. Apparently during the second day I do not believe him to lack much in the struggle for victory.

Also highlight the test done by Mads Ostberg. After initial opinions been clearly benefited by the stand-out on Friday, Norwegian fell mouths during the next two days and ended in a wonderful second position that will allow you to enter the pools of the podium for the following tests.

In strange images that always leaves us world Rallye, cannot remember two sure that appear in the summaries of the end of the season. The first is that of Chris Patterson driving the car of your pilot, Petter Solberg, after losing this driver's license for speeding, go to 112 in a stretch limited to 80 kilometres per hour.

The other is rally need the help of the own Patterson in order to start the DS3 WRC after that it will stop at the end of the first Power Stage of the year. Specific regulations that prohibited such action, but to be in the Midway, preventing the passage of the rest of the participants were allowed to powertrain to remove it from the road.

Team Air Asia confirms its pilots to two GP2 Championship in 2011

I already mentioned the first day of testing in Abu Dhabi, but the fact that Luiz Razia and Davide Valsecchi were on track meant something. Today, Team Air Asia has confirmed its pilots for the two Championships in GP2 in 2011, and Ghazw Valsecchi chosen.

No surprise within team Tony Fernandes, which fully confident their alignment.A couple of pilots, in fact, is not anything wrong, and they could get interesting results, if the team were height, since pilots have experience. To be able to vote this post you must login or register here.

Davide Valsecchi runs from 2008 in GP2 and was eighth season, with last iSport International, being the last champion of the GP2 Asia Series, while Luiz Razia began to burn in the Asian season 2008 / 2009. Last year was eleventh and raced with Rapax.

In addition, Ghazw was as a test pilot for Virgin Racing in formula 1. Both pilots aim will be to get good results and, if lucky accompanies them, some victories. His current aspirations should be translated into several podiums during 2011.
