GP3 Europe 2011: victories by Adrian Quaife-Hobbs and James vessels, Mitch Evans is leader of the Championship

This past weekend was held the third meeting of the GP3 2011 in Europe with WINS of Adrian Quaife-Hobbs and James vessels, although Mitch Evans is positioned as leader of the Championship, taking the place of Nigel Melker. RSC Mucke pilot had a weekend to forget, and is Evans, MW Arden, who now stands out from its rivals.
The first race saw quaife-hobbs, who came from the third position of the grid, as it stood at first position only a few seconds after booting, surprise friends and strangers. From there, he led with an iron hand until the finish line. Outside of that time, there is too much excitement in the race.
One of the animators was perhaps Dean Smith, who overtook Lewis Williamson in the output, like Quaife-Hobbs, and attempted to pressure the leader of the race, but in the end his car had problems, and lost some time, reaching the final in fifth position. The second race also saw a victory with the winner to head out to tail.
In this case it was James draught, which coming from the pole position ran away from his opponents and gave no option. From behind, this time we saw an interesting fight between Valtteri Bottas, Dean Smith and Alexander Sims. The Finnish defended from attacks by Smith, while Sims was waiting for a possible error. In the end it could tell you both.
Therefore, Sims occupied the second place of the podium ahead of Bottas. Mitch Evans won a fourth very fought, demontando from the back position, while the latest positions with right to points occupied them Gabby Chaves and Lewis Williamson. In general, this weekend, we have seen better careers than in Montmelo and Turkey, despite being in the Valencia Street Circuit.
The next meeting of the Championship will be in two weeks, in Great Britainin the Silverstone Circuit. The English quote will be that mark the arrival in ecuador of the Championship, eight runs in four meetings will be held, and will be missing other eight races at four meetings over.

Victories of Robert Wickens and Kevin Korjus in the meeting of the Formula Renault 3.5 at the Nürburgring

After a weekend with victories of Robert Wickens and Kevin Korjus in the meeting of the Formula Renault 3.5 at the Nurburgring, the Canadian pilot stands with the lead of the Championship, when we arrived at the equator of the same. This means that it will test a formula Renault when it comes to the next meeting of the Formula Renault 3.5 at the Hungaroring circuit.
The first of two races saw an incredible fight between Robert Wickens and Daniel Ricciardo, with final victory of the third pilot Marussia Virgin Racing. Both are perhaps the pilots with the best combination of talent and experience of the category today. The two showed his class, finishing nearly 23 seconds ahead of Kevin Korjus, the third occupant of the podium.
Cesar Ramos got the first position of the pilots out of the podium, followed by our Albert Costa, the fifth, which continues to be regular, though perhaps lack a bit of speed in order to achieve better results. In a race very complicated, so only the track, wet State Parties highlighted Sergio Canamasas, sixth just behind her compatriot.
The second race was even more emotion prepared for spectators combregados fantastic Nurburgring circuit. In the first curve, a touch resulted in a spin to kevin korjus, who made the mandatory pit stop before the safety car to come to the track. It was done, as they would be stopping their rivals, the Estonian was climbing positions, and at the end he managed to win the victory.
Who lost a possible victory was Fairuz Fauzy, off track after blocking the wheels in a puddle of water before the Veedol chicane. That happened after his obligatory stop in the pits when filming ahead Korjus. In the end, it was even surpassed by Robert Wickens unleashed, which regained positions up second, ahead of the pilot Malaysian who completed the podium.
Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniel Ricciardo finished behind Fauzy, and just ahead of Albert Costa, who still score points, and although it is far from the lead of the Championship, it is not so much, for the runner-up. We hope that Hungary his luck changed a little and can fight for the podium or even for a victory which already deserves to get.

Will Power and Dario Franchitti are victories in Texas

With all the fuss of the 24 hours of Le Mans and the Grand Prize of Canada the double of the IndyCar event has become somewhat of incognito in the sporting landscape. A double quote in addition very peculiar that the second of the races had no classification, and the grid was determined by draw during the short break of one hour between the two tests.
In the first, Dario Franchitti dominated with authority the same and just was a bit bothered by Scott Dixon in the final stretch. Despite that Franchitti was able to endure the type and took the victory. The second serious race here for Will Power which could win for the first time in a circuit not rutero.
Bad luck for his part to Oriol Servia who did not have much luck and could only finish in a twenty-first position in the first race, and in the tenth fifth during the second. In this way the Catalan pilot loses the third position so far in the general classification.

Enge/Muller and Krumm/Luhr are victories at Silverstone

With something more delay than usual comes the Chronicle of what happened this weekend in the FIA GT1 Championship in the renewed circuit of Silverstone in the United Kingdom. The podiums of the fifth race of the world have been trained by the same pilots both Saturday and Sunday, but with changes in the winning couple.
The victories two couples were distributed to them. The first race was for Alex Muller and Tomas Enge and his Aston Martin, while the second Michael Krumm and Lucas Luhr with his Nissan GTR were the vencederos. In both tests Mike Hezemans and Andreas Zuberse on Board of the Corvette got the third drawer of the podium.
Update: added Gallery of high-resolution images.

Alex Muller and Tomas Enge were victorious first test with a quick step by boxes two laps before the Michael Krumm and Lucas Luhr to do likewise. Enge/Muller were in second position until then and favored by the maneuver they placed in the first place, which would retain until the end of the race. Krumm/Lurh had to be content with second place and Hezemans/Zuberse with the third.
The second race was more tough. The couple Krumm/Luhr won by only two tenths rivals Enge/Muller. Latter were leading the race until that they had to stop in boxes, which occurred with the car on track safety. At the exit of the pitlane Luhr and Muller were glued, moment in which began a beautiful duel track between the two pilots, with several overtaking each other. Finally Luhr was the best part and won the victory with his partner Krumm. Third were again Hezemans Zuberse.
The next appointment will be in a month in the Motorland Aragon Navarra circuit. Until then the ranking will be led by Krumm/Luhr with 70 points, followed by Winkelhock/Basseng with 67 and Hohenadel/Piccini with 61. As you can see, the world is becoming increasingly tight.

Two victories for Roberto Merhi and another for Dani Juncadella Red Bull ring

The weekend started well for the Spaniards in the new Red Bull Ring, also known as Spielberg. Dani Juncadella was done with the pole for the first and the third race, while Roberto Merhi goes second and third in them. Very good positions on the grid for both.
If the weekend began with good feelings, the final result has not him gone behind. Roberto Merhi has managed two victories and Dani Juncadella another. Merhi won the first two races and Juncadella third. A bottom line which serves the first to hold the lead in the Championship and the second to Eaglets to second place.
The first race saw both Spaniards left from the first line. Turned off the traffic lights Merhi managed to overtake Juncadella. Since there was practically a monologue, but positions remain unchanged. A genuine struggle of Titans. They left no mark to the other and did not give option to its rivals. Third concluded Marco Wittmann, finished almost 10 seconds from the winner, Roberto Merhi.
The second test had nothing to do with the first. With the track steeped in water and with grilled inverted, Roberto Merhi released the best of himself to give a blow at the table. The output was behind the safety car, which had to stay on track during two laps. From there comeback spectacular of the Spanish. Started eighth on the grid and was surpassing rivals one after the other. All this in less than nine laps. If outside, allowed the luxury of overtake in almost 9 seconds per second, Laurens Venthoor. Dani Juncadella had to settle for sixth position.
The third and final race was better to Juncadella, worse at Merhi. The first ran from the beginning, while the second had a touch with Felix Rosenqvist at the first corner that forced him to leave. As consuelo minor, one of his main rivals in the face to the world, Marco Wittmann, nor scored due to a technical problem in its single-seater.
The following quote from the formula 3 Euro Series will be in a month at Norisring. Meanwhile, Roberto Merhi leads the classification of the world with 164 points by 136 of Dani Juncadella, is now the second. Third is Nigel Melker with 123 points and fourth Marco Wittmann with 119.

GP3 Series Turkey 2011: victories by Nigel Melker and Alexander Sims

The weekend passed, accompanying the formula on the occasion of his first European race, and making opening race next to GP2, has been disputed the first race of the GP3 Series 2011 in Turkey, with victories of Nigel Melker and Alexander Simswith the pilot of CSR Mucke to lead the Championship, ahead of Andrea Caldarelli.
Melker was leader in the first race already in the first round, after a good start, ahead to Tom Dillmann, and thanks to an overtaking by the outside curve 12 to Andrea Caldarelli. From there, he devoted himself to administer its distance, especially after the departure of the safety car, but the Italian could not with Melker, who took the first victory of the year.
After Melker and Caldarelli, Dillman completed the podium. In the second race, with the reverse grid, Alexander Sims it was clear, and nothing more out, he escaped, without giving options to their rivals. Thanks to its speed, was a great victory, ahead of Michael Christensen, CSR Mucke driver. Precisely his teammate was the third step of the podium.
It must be said that, coming eighth in the GP3, finishing a career third has an important merit, since that cars tend to much match the performance of the pilots. Andrea Caldarelli was fifth, result that gives its provisional second position in the classification of drivers, with 10 points, four behind Melker.
The next race will be held in two weeks, at the Circuit de Catalunya, on the occasion of the Grand Prize of Spain of formula 1, following the European season in the category. We are sure that this weekend it reckoning more thrills. For now, Turkey has helped US to see that the GP3 will have talent also in 2011.

Robert Huff and Gabriele Tarquini take victories at Zolder

Second meeting of the WTCC in Zolder and second weekend in which the Chevrolet Cruze with the new engine 1.6 Turbo have been as the reference of the Championship and clear candidates for the title. In Belgium, the RML team returned to gain the pole in the hands of Robert Huff. English seems more toned than ever before and after four races he has proved to be the strongest candidate for the title.
Huff made good the pole on Saturday for the victory in the first race without too much opposition. And that although after the initial domain advantage disappeared after the departure of the safety-car. His fellow team, Alain Menu and the champion Yvan Muller completed the podium showing that Chevrolet has no rival. Gabriele Tarquini, Tiago Monteiro, Kritian Poulsen, Norbert Michelisz, Javi Villa and Darryl O'Young completed the positions eligible for points. Great result obtained by Villa in his third race at the wheel of a BMW 320 TC.

In the second race, with the top ten on the grid of the first career invested, Gabriele Tarquini was returning to take advantage of the first position to achieve the first victory non-Chevrolet of the season. SunRed Italian has been able to withstand attacks from Muller, Huff and Menu. French said goodbye to their options to break the radiator while Huff out of track to try to overcome to Tarquini. In the end, Alain Menu was done with the second position while another SEAT, that of Tiago Monteiro, completed the podium.
Darryl O'Young, Michel Nykjaer, Robert Huff, Robert Dahlgren, Norbert Michelisz, Aleksei Dudukalo and again Javi Villa completed the points. For its part, weekend bittersweet for Pepe Oriola. If in the first race he finished eleventh, in the second he finished two laps after suffering problems in his direction.
In general, Robert Huff is the leader with a point of advantage over Alain Menu. Gabriele Tarquini and Yvan Muller are more dependent, 19 and 22 points respectively of the British. In the independents trophy, Kristian Poulsen is the leader with three points of advantage on Javi Villa. Michel Nykjaer is the third tied with the Asturian.
In Monza, the SEAT Leon could already count on new engines 1.6 Turbo, but it would only be available for the first swords Tarquini and Monteiro. This is perhaps the last chance that someone could call into question the supremacy of the Chevrolet.

Victories of Alexander Rossi and Kevin Korjus in the first meeting of the Formula Renault 3.5

Exciting weekend who has lived in the Motorland Aragon, on the occasion of the first meeting of the Formula Renault 3.5, that has seen the victories of Alexander Rossi and Kevin Korjus. The United States, in addition, leaves Spain with the lead of the Championship under the arm.
Rossi lived an intense battle for the leadership of the first race with Daniil Move once Robert Wickens, who had the pole, was long at the first corner. Rossi and Move were fighting for victory until lap 12, when Rossi made advancing dramatically.
On the goal line, none of the two pilots wanted to give up, and saw a movement reminiscent of which was between Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost in the Grand Prize of Portugal of 1988. Some teams had to lift their slates, approaching the car from Rossi dangerously to the wall.
In the end, Move lost swerve and fell to fifth place, surpassed upon the end by Albert Costa, who "debut" EPIC racing, won the fourth position, behind Wickens and Panciatici, that acompanaro the winner Alexander Rossi in the podium of the first race of the year.
The second race took a completely different story. kevin korjus, qualified in second position on the grid for the second race, had a brilliant career, without any errors, and became, in his 18 years, three months and eight days, the pilot youngest to win a race in the Formula Renault 3.5.
The Estonian had no rival, and not even Rossi could reach him, despite the efforts made, which ended in second position. The podium completed one of our own, Albert Costa, who was struggling with Korjus at the start of career, but problems with the brakes delayed you.
Catalan was formed with the podium in a circuit which is not of his favorites, although it is the "home" race. With everything, it is the third in the overall standings and only a point separated from Robert Wickens, second classified. Rossi, for its part, is very prominent, 15 points ahead of Wickens.
The next meeting of the Championship will be the last weekend of may at the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. No doubt, another weekend of fantastic careers ahead for the World Series by Renault, which hopefully that Albert Costa can achieve even better results.

Before formula 1: Michael Schumacher, looking for victories

Michael schumacher was news in 2010 by returning to the specialty, return some described of madness, while others looked to win the Championship is that year, Mercedes Grand Prix was, in fact, Brawn GP. In the end, the results not accompanied and Michael was recently surpassed by Nico Rosberg. Now, it seems that Mercedes has reacted and the team it will look for victories.
In principle, expect good results both of Michael as Nico in 2010 was logical. The team came from winning it all in 2009, and they gathered experience with youth, on a computer that seeping talent. But the Mercedes W01 not was as fast as expected and Schumacher seemed to not be so fast enough, there was no way that the expected results arrive.

In fact, during the offseason, 2011, Mercedes speech heralded not acknowledgement a too best season, often openly declaring that they were away from the Group's head and that lacked them a second to get. In the end, in recent testing at the Circuit de Catalunya, Mercedes said, with good times and good rhythm, and optimism was in possession of the German team and, to a lesser extent, of Schumacher.
The heptacampeon is unrealistic and optimistic, and although he now believes that they may fight for winning any race, knows that This will not be common, and not expected to fight for the title in 2011. It would seem that it takes this season as a preparation for his final assault in 2012. In any case, Schumacher seems confident that this year see you ahead far more often than in 2010.
Party preferences of each one, the truth is having a champion fighting for the race it would be a luxury, and is that the other four champions will have machines to win (assuming that the McLaren ends with the altitude), so according to that maxim of "where there are two, fit three", I say that "where there are four, fit five", or not?

There is no doubt that, although not say clearly, Michael Schumacher expects that 2011 is the year in which again demonstrate what is why demonstrate, to make it clear that the numbers that have come by a talent which is still there. You know that, "who had retained", and I am convinced that little to the own Mercedes goes well, Schumi will be in a front.
In addition, the single-seat this season will have to be more adapted to Schumacher in what was supposedly the last year, and the problem of the Bridgestone tyres, Schumacher failed to warm up, does not exist with the Pirelli. They disappear, therefore the excuses (justified or not) who was esgrimieron last year, and now of Schumi will expect nothing more than non-compelling results.
But Mercedes Grand Prix have been cautious during the offseason, so if Schumacher said that he may fight for winning races in 2011, the truth is that I have to admit that I think. So far, the German has been very careful not to raise false expectations, after the whack of the last year. For us that his performance in Montmelo, along with what he says, is so important; and even if 2012 must be his final assault on the title, let us remember that the rumors say that perhaps falls more time...
