Grand Prix of Canada F1 2011: Sebastian Vettel opens in the wall of Champions and Nico Rosberg achieved the best time

The best time of the first session of the Grand Prize of Canada classification has been for Nico Rosberg. Although the other news of the day has been the new name that is added to the famous wall of Champions; Sebastian Vettel. The German driver has lost control in the last chicane of the circuit and this has led to his Red Bull to impact with the wall, although it seems that its chassis is well.
The red flag released after the accident at the German pilot has lasted just a few minutes, so that it has not bothered too teams in their work of the session. Despite the clash, has to be said for the first time in several years the asphalt of the circuit of Montreal is in good condition, and not it melts with the passage of cars, which is a good news.
It is to comment on that Ferrari look good. Both Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa has been throughout the session in fairly quick time, and the end result has been satisfactory. It is clear that it should not be carried away by the results, and is that it is only the first session of free practice, and things can change much between today and tomorrow.
But, in any case, that the Ferrari well now is a good sign, because that lets us see that the car has some potential in the Canadian circuit. Another team that seems to go well in Canada is Mercedes Grand Prix, in part due to its powerful engine, probably. Both Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg have been setting competitive times.
Going back further, we see that both the McLaren and Red Bull have played a discreet role, which is suspicious, taking into account that today they are probably the two teams with the best set of whole grilled. It will have to wait for the second session to try to draw more conclusions. In addition, sure that Vettel would later have been if he had not had the accident.
Jaime Alguersuari, for its part, has been thirteenth, just ahead of Daniel Ricciardo, while his Toro Rosso has the golden colour slightly different this weekend, which has brought more rumors about the possible purchase of the reserve team of Red Bull by Aabar. With regard to the Hispania, they are now within the 107%, and mixed with the Virgin, and this is also good news.

Nico Rosberg will continue in Mercedes GP until 2016

After the extension of the contract of Fernando Alonso, another pilot that terminated his contract in 2012, Nico Rosberg, will extend his contract with Mercedes GP for four season, until 2016. The German pilot ensures a hole in the team after the end of the first "block". It will be to see if Michael Schumacher, whose contract ends in 2012 also, renewed or decides to hang up the town definitely (who think otherwise that raise your hand).
In this way, Britney Spears (as he called his mecanicos at Williams F1) or the Prince of Shrek (as affectionately call him elsewhere) ensures the presence in a top team for four years more. It is clear that Mercedes GP will invest much in search of his first victory in formula one and Nico Rosberg will, a priori, be his number one driver. All for not exceed 130 races needed Mark Webber to achieve a victory (Rosberg leads 95).

Nico Rosberg: "We want to win the Championship"

Yesterday, at the Circuit de Catalunya, Motorpasion F1 was one of the first media of the entire planet to collect statements of Nico Rosberg, after achieving the fastest time in the rain on the final day of testing of the Circuit de Catalunya. The German pilot was very receptive to questions raised.
Nico pointed out to Red Bull as the favorite team for the 2011 World Championship and he explained that he was testing on the fourth day of tests because they had expected it to rain on Friday. For him it was important to test improvements in dry, to be able to adapt to the car. To be able to vote this post you must login or register here.

In addition, Rosberg was that during the offseason they had had problems specifically in his days and, therefore, they did not want his last day of preseason testing would be affected by the weather, with a flood that we saw yesterday in Montmelo.
In the day yesterday, the German pilot was unable to prove the tires of water, and said that in general hard to adapt to these weather conditions, in particular, as it was the track yesterday, with about three fingers of water in most areas of the Catalan route. Nevertheless, he was optimistic.
We want to be champions of the world, and therefore have to work more in the direction in which we are doing, that it is correct. The car feels much better two weeks ago, and that is a very good sign.

Rosberg attacked the Kronos in Barcelona

The third day of the season at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona was carried out with different climatic conditions. Morning drivers and teams expected to have a track wet after the rain falling in the night and began to try for the first time the new Pirelli rain tires.

When the initial temperature was very low, drivers struggling to draw conclusions from the tyres and during the morning rain returned to make Act of presence they could mount intermediaries. The conclusion in the paddock was based on intermediate rain tyres had problems to reach an optimum temperature making very complicated management of cars.

But everything changed for the evening to better track, approximately 20 degrees Celsius (on asphalt) and the track slowly, thus drying fastest time of the morning session were history.

Nico Rosberg was the fastest in a time of 1: 23.168 minutes. Mercedes driver preceded the boy wonder and reigning champion Sebastian Vettel.

Behind the German duo ended Vitaly Petrov 0.3 seconds followed by Lewis Hamilton's McLaren.

A day with many interruptions, which limited the planned programmes of many teams. Forty-five minutes of the start was Pastor Maldonado (Williams) who forced to deploy the first red flag after perderi your car. Approximately an hour later the Sauber, Sergio Perez pilot had the mishap.

Even before the teams to go to lunch, Ferrari driver, Felipe Massa has finished twice F150th Italy in the gravel. And finally, Mark Webber, stopped his car a minute before that an end time at the first corner - perhaps with dry tank.

The Mercedes had been one of the disappointments of Montmelo, tests so far. Today, on the third day of testing of the Circuit de Catalunya Nico Rosberg has been the best time, remedying the problem. It seems that Mercedes are not as asleep as it seemed so far.

Moreover, after the German driver Vitaly Petrov has shown that when there are no problems, Lotus Renault GP is also front, some three tenths of Nico. Lewis Hamilton has achieved the third best time yet relatively near of the pilot from Mercedes, but from there, the stiempos have been more distant. Perhaps one of the positive surprises of the day has been the sixth fastest time of Jarno Trulli, showing that Team Lotus could have reduced the distance between them the established teams last year, something that Virgin still does not seem to have achieved, at least so clearly.

During the day, have different situations of the asphalt, since that morning has been wet, and it has been drying as the day progressed. This has tapped it Rosberg to perform his fastest lap classification with little petrol and soft tyres style.

Another interesting thing was the day for Toro Rosso. Although time does not show, Daniel Ricciardo morning piloting has been remarkable, making a very good time in complicated conditions. In the afternoon, Sebastien Buemi has led Toro Rosso, even though his time was not spectacular.

For technical problems, has there been McLaren, Lotus and Williams, but in all three cases have compensated it for being quite fast in their respective fields. The truth is that, with regard to the final day of testing tomorrow, will be interesting to see how just everything.

Rosberg still does not make sound alarm at Mercedes bells

Nico Rosberg says that it is still early to sound alarm on Mercedes GP own bells.

Recently, when speaking of the German brand in season 2010, Michael Schumacher admitted that he knew that after the winter test, "it would be a difficult year".

12 Months, this week in Jerez, is held the second round of the 2011 preseason, and Nico Rosberg was with marge 3 seconds behind the leader of the own time table silver Thursday.

"This is a hybrid car," stressed the German.

"So you cannot be see the pace at which we have yet to reach many new parts".

Other gaps in the own was also the reliability of the car, but Rosberg said that technical problems are something "that always looks" of a new single-seater.

At the other end of the time table, fastest pilot on Thursday also exaggerated the results in table cronos on the circuit of Jerez de la Frontera.

"Do the fastest time?" "Means nothing", said the pilot of Ferrari Felipe Massa.
