Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: third-party free with Sebastian Vettel head to Ferrari in Uptown

Third session of free practice with Sebastian Vettel at the head and both Ferrari to the attack. Indeed, cars of Maranello are the only ones that have been able to mingle with the all-powerful Red Bull this morning. Although this does not mean anything, because workouts will compete from the two, and then we will see the reality, these results encourage Italians.
This third meeting has played under the shadow of the controversy on the prohibition of the blown diffusers. This morning we learned that ban has been scheduled before arriving at Silverstone, theoretical except for the Mercedes engines. Therefore, we have not seen nor Christian Horner and Adrian Newey for much of the morning, reaching to the wall of boxes only fifteen minutes to the end.
In addition, their statements when they left the meeting with the FIA ("No comment") showed little satisfaction in what will be talked about there. In any case, Horner has promised to talk to the press on the subject, although it will be later in the day, and not now. As for sports, Fernando Alonso in second position and Jaime Alguersuari 16th but ahead of his teammate.
For some, special mention to Daniel Ricciardo, who is already faster than Vitantonio Liuzzi. I have to admit that he hoped that the Australian would be faster than the Italian, but by no means expected to happen already here in England. Looked it more likely more later, but since then, this is a surprise (relative, obviously). Now he must wait for the classification.
Another important thing to say is that the traditional "abyss" between the "old" equipment and "new" given today after Heikki Kovalainen. The Finn is less than four seconds of the best time to four-tenths of Nick Heidfeld, which precedes, and 1.7 seconds ahead of teammate Jarno Trulli. Applause for Kovalainen, who is giving the best of if same each weekend with the Lotus, and that in the end it shows.

Grand Prix of Europe F1 2011: Sebastian Vettel WINS and Mark Webber makes him a favour covering the shoulders

The European Grand Prix has been slightly more entertaining than previous years, although rather than true career has been in the pit stops. Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso have not been too far for a large part of the test. In the end Sebastian Vettel achieved victory in Valencia Street Circuit, which is the sixth test to win the eight we carry this 2011. In the other two, signed two separate posts seconds.
The German Red Bull driver takes 186 possible 200 points, a staggering 93 per cent of the total. So there will not be who put in doubt that defended its world title. We have not passed the equator of this 2011 and it is only 70 points which earned in 2010. Very ugly you have to put everything that Sebastian Vettel will not become world champion. All this Fernando Alonso was second and Mark Webber third in the race.
The start, once again, was quiet for Sebastian Vettel. Mark Webber was not started well but he was allowed to retain his position favored because Lewis Hamilton fell asleep. Fernando Alonso tried to plug holes with those who came behind arrimando is the McLaren of the English, but Felipe Massa passed as an arrow between the two putting third momentarily. Momentarily because Spanish in a hurry of braking master rose from fifth place to third. He played the all and went it well.
A. from there Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso started a nice duel remained almost until the end of the race. In a very nice move inside the Spanish managed to overtake the Australian. False alarm, because he returned the play boxes. It gave the impression that Alonso was going to have to settle for third place.

His opportunity came in the last pit stop. Webber changed the tire half a lap before Alonso, what it took to teeth, stay on track and try to get out in front of his rival. This time the move went well and the Spanish stood in front of the Australian, but without options versus Sebastian Vettel. Mark Webber had slowed lot Fernando Alonso, and the difference between the German was unable to cut. The pace of Ferrari was quite good during the entire race.
The cross was for McLaren. Lewis Hamilton had many problems with the compounds of Pirelli and ended more than 46 seconds of Sebastian Vettel. Jenson Button, for its part, ended a minute for the winner. The Valencia circuit is choked and both McLaren MP4-26.
Jaime Alguersuari completed a great Sunday finishing eighth, same position where the Grand Prize of Canada equaled his best result this season. Sergio Perez returned to surprise friends and strangers making just one stop on the Valencia Street Circuit, something that almost all were impossible.
The DRS has little helped to facilitate overtaking the Valencia Street Circuit. Very few and very tight. The designed urban layout blessed by Hermann Tilke is boring most of the current schedule of formula one. Up in the Monaco Grand Prix I remember more overtaking than in the European Grand Prix.

Grand Prix of Europe F1 2011: Sebastian Vettel prepares the ground for the classification

Third session of free practice and preparation of Sebastian Vettel in the face of the qualifying session will be held at 14: 00. The German has managed the fastest time this morning with traffic in the Middle, followed that of Fernando Alonso at some four tenths and Felipe Massa little less than half a second behind.
Mark Webber has been the fourth ranked ahead of Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, both fairly distant McLaren of the head at least as to the achieved times at this meeting. I'm surprised this performance "slack" of the two McLarens, above all and time by Lewis Hamilton. I am sure that classification they will teach us another face, but things have been so at the third session.

We have the table of times below, but the truth is that we lack laps by driver from average table data. Anyway see how track conditions are better now, interesting with 26 ° C, 35 ?c runway and 59% of relative humidity. All pilots have focused on the setup of classification, and that is why I just do not believe the performance of the McLaren.
It seems that this time it may be possible to do front row grid to Fernando Alonso (even Felipe Massa, who is not so far). What is also clear is that there are two barbecues: the top 10 and the rest, as in the first "half" have exactly to the five main teams. RedBull, Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes GP and Renault. Difficult situation of Toro Rosso but especially Jaime Alguersuari it is quite complicated in the face of the classification and to highlight the twelfth position of Sergio Perez which shows once again be able to make good racing. In a couple of hours we will leave doubts.

Grand Prix of Europe F1 2011: Sebastian Vettel continued collecting poles

The European Grand Prix qualifying session would serve as a Guinea pig to test the effects that would have on the teams the prohibition on changing the engine map from Saturday to Sunday. Nothing at all. Sebastian Vettel and his Red Bull kb7 returned to get the pole. The German leads seven of eight possible. Incredible.
No one was saved nothing and all the Favorites used three soft games available. Left with the question if the McLaren also did so, but it seems so. In the end, Sebastian Vettel returned to impose its law with Mark Webber Escudero this time. Lewis Hamilton will be third, fourth Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button fifth.
For the first time in the season Red Bull were forced to use all available soft tyres games. An unusual event in what carry in 2011, though really Sebastian Vettel pole did not endanger at any time. Which was approached was his teammate Mark Webber, which was to slightly less than two-tenths of the reigning champion of the world.

They stayed in the Q1 Jaime Alguersuari, Heikki Kovalainen, Jarno Trulli, Timo Glock, Vitantonio Liuzzi, Jerome D'Ambrosio and Narain Karthikeyan. The young Spanish pilot had planned to make a single attempt with soft tire, with such bad luck that he had to abort due to the traffic that was found on the track. None of the pilots exceeded 107% limit, so it will need no favors to participate in the race tomorrow.
The Court in the Q2 affected Vitaly Petrov, Paul di Resta, Rubens Barrichello, Kamui Kobayashi, Pastor Maldonado, Sergio Perez and Sebastien Buemi. Pilots head the only one who had to leave a second time to avoid unnecessary scares was Felipe Massa, although even he completed the round because his step to the Q3 was not danger.
Tomorrow hopefully enjoy an entertaining race. To see if the two zones of Valencia Street Circuit DRS contribute to that test is not a simple procession of cars. If not, come back to enjoy one of the most boring calendar careers of formula one.
107% Q1 time: 1: 45.301

Canada F1 2011 Grand Prix: best time of Sebastian Vettel at the third session of free practice

At the 3rd meeting of free, practice better time has been for Sebastian Vettel. Therefore, we have things very matches in the absence of the qualifying session for the Grand Prize of Canada 2011 only. Behind him, at the top we find also Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg, confirming the performance of the Ferrari and Mercedes.
Felipe Massa, for its part, has achieved fourth place, and just behind him, both McLaren and Michael Schumacher with his Mercedes. We could say that the top four teams were very evenly matched here in Montreal, so the classification within a few hours ahead and the race tomorrow, anything would be tremendously emocionatne, that I'm sure.
The top ten it have completed Vitaly Petrov and the two Force India, with Adrian Sutil ahead. Since then, the Mercedes engine will be much helped team Vijay Mallya, which has considerably improved its performance on previous races. In fact, yesterday Paul di Resta because he had a very prominent role in the second free practice.
As for our other pilots of House, Jaime Alguersuari has succeeded in 14th position, while Pedro de la Rosa has completed in a correct seventeenth plaza, blemished only by a track exit where yesterday had his accident Kamui Kobayashi. Pedro has come out by itself in the foot, although he had doubts about the State of your gearbox. It will have to see it then.
Hispania, for its part, has had a remarkably good meeting, with Vitantonio Liuzzi ahead of the two Virgin, and Narain Karthikeyan ahead of one of them. One could say that, so far, Hispania beats the departure to Virgin, although we will have to wait for tomorrow, because what is truly account. Anyway, is a good feeling, which should be in the Spanish team.
One of the negative points of the meeting is for Mark Webber, who has had problems in his KERS that have prevented him from leaving to spin at the last session of free practice. A penalty for the Australian, who is not having a too bright season, following a 2009 and 2010 very competitive. To see if it will get be ahead this time.
By the way, that when you get the qualifying session, we will have to be very outstanding of the sky, because at the end was really cloudy. Will come the rain? We'll see it in a few hours!

Grand Prix of Canada F1 2011: Sebastian Vettel opens in the wall of Champions and Nico Rosberg achieved the best time

The best time of the first session of the Grand Prize of Canada classification has been for Nico Rosberg. Although the other news of the day has been the new name that is added to the famous wall of Champions; Sebastian Vettel. The German driver has lost control in the last chicane of the circuit and this has led to his Red Bull to impact with the wall, although it seems that its chassis is well.
The red flag released after the accident at the German pilot has lasted just a few minutes, so that it has not bothered too teams in their work of the session. Despite the clash, has to be said for the first time in several years the asphalt of the circuit of Montreal is in good condition, and not it melts with the passage of cars, which is a good news.
It is to comment on that Ferrari look good. Both Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa has been throughout the session in fairly quick time, and the end result has been satisfactory. It is clear that it should not be carried away by the results, and is that it is only the first session of free practice, and things can change much between today and tomorrow.
But, in any case, that the Ferrari well now is a good sign, because that lets us see that the car has some potential in the Canadian circuit. Another team that seems to go well in Canada is Mercedes Grand Prix, in part due to its powerful engine, probably. Both Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg have been setting competitive times.
Going back further, we see that both the McLaren and Red Bull have played a discreet role, which is suspicious, taking into account that today they are probably the two teams with the best set of whole grilled. It will have to wait for the second session to try to draw more conclusions. In addition, sure that Vettel would later have been if he had not had the accident.
Jaime Alguersuari, for its part, has been thirteenth, just ahead of Daniel Ricciardo, while his Toro Rosso has the golden colour slightly different this weekend, which has brought more rumors about the possible purchase of the reserve team of Red Bull by Aabar. With regard to the Hispania, they are now within the 107%, and mixed with the Virgin, and this is also good news.

Sebastian Vettel tyres had endured until the end in Monaco

Almost two weeks ago we saw one of the late most disputed in recent times in formula one. Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button were virtually a mini train in the streets of the Principality of Monaco. The three had options to victory if he fails to be by the safety car had to go out in the final moments of the test.
The director of Pirelli Motorsport, Paul Hembery, has indicated that Sebastian Vettel had endured with their tires up to the end unless the safety car out in the final laps of the Monaco Grand Prix. As evidenced by analyses that have been carried out following the Monaco event data.
Monaco was a fantastic race, three drivers fighting for victory using three completely different strategies. From these data we can see that the tyres of Sebastian had endured until the end if it had continued driving in the same way as up the red flag. This means that any completed 62 laps, equivalent to more than 200 kilometres, with the soft compound.
Paul Hembery also boasts the speed of your product:
Benefits of tyres were shown with him that marked the return of more rapid in the history of Monaco classification, another one of our records.
Good first occur to me the following records that have beaten: record of more stops in a Grand Prix, record of tyres from further degradation and record of more complaints from drivers about the tires. If outside Paul Hembery proud would not be of certain records. What advertising are doing to the brand. It seems as if they said:
Look, we have the tires less lasting in the history of formula one and we are very proud of that.
That is advertising the good and the rest is nonsense.

The strategy of Sebastian Vettel was accidental

The strategy to a stop of Sebastian Vettel was not more than an accident, as discussed in the team. The idea was to make two stops riding the 'option' for the second stint, but by a mistake of communication or understanding, were placed wheels 'prime' at the first stop in boxes.
Because of this, but above all thanks to the ability of Sebastian Vettel to preserve the tires, failed to reach the end of race tyres still "with rubber", but we will never know how they really were. Me personally I would have liked to see these tyres in the canvas to finish the race, but we all know that has enabled almost until the change of single-seater after the last red flag of the weekend.
The strategy was thwarted by this error, radio is wrong at the time that in RedBull were strategically neutralising the Button input to boxes at the start of the race, and things happen, they set up a game of 'prime' in the car of Sebastian Vettel when they had to be 'option'. Had to redo the strategy and hence things were clear: the way to overcome this "shit" was extended to the maximum the stint and mount an 'option' to end of career. Vettel was who finally did what he wanted.
The best option was to go very, very long and also a stop, on lap 20 which we thought it was a bit aggressive to do a 60 laps on 'prime them'.
Jenson made us life easier to ride 'option' and then 'option', then a question of what to do. It was a risky strategy, but sebastian made it work. He knew how it was the situation and led according to it to protect the tires
Virtually all the race with a set of tyres. This makes me think that I will not make more case of Pirelli, or half of the commentators: Marc Gene commented that Yes, they were going until the end, Pedro de la Rosa said it was crazy. In fact, who you could imagine?
I pay this time (and others also) to Sebastian Vettel because what he did yesterday, obviously by the red flag, and that no one can it negar… What did yesterday is a career worthy of a champion of the world. Not only well managed the error boxes (mistakes, if we take into account that it took twice as normal in the pitstop), but who masterfully managed the tires and the two pilots who fought with him, in less than 1 second on the streets of Monaco. Three champions of the world in 0.7 seconds.

GP of Monaco F1 2011: pole for Sebastian Vettel in a very worrying meeting

We were before the qualifying session for the Monaco Grand Prix which would theoretically be the most exciting of the season and I at least I have not felt disappointed by top pilots. Yes I've had mixed feelings with the Hispania and Jaime Alguersuari, the former have not taken part in any of the sessions, and as Jaime, had an encounter with Kobayashi who has left him out of the Q1 sunk in the classification. To forget this GP.
The meeting had a black with the accident of Sergio Perez part against protections after the tunnel, where the braking has today had the prominence of two serious accident that should make us think about the danger of this track, and in my opinion the decision to ban the use of the DRS in that part of the track is todaySadly, more than justified.
The traffic during the Q1 has determined the performance of pilots with options, which have remained intact to marking enough times to move smoothly to the Q2. I left with the question of why Massa has gone back to the end of the session, because it did not theoretically need, but the rest have been expected: mark time and wait in the box.
Pilots of average grid as Perez and Maldonado have bet strong to get placed sixth and fourth respectively, making a pass to the Q2 and showing that this circuit can do well. A real shame the Czech, gruesome accident. Well also Sebastian Buemi, ahead of the Renault and marked differences with team-mate who has not had the luck or the ability to avoid the touch with Kobayashi, and that ultimately it has not had time to react and go out one last time to the track. Jaime morning race is going to be tough and difficult, leaving the position 20 behind the two Lotus of Trulli and Kovalainen.
More of the same in the Q2, you "front" marking times below 1: 15 and soon assuring square for the Q3, while behind the things have been perhaps most striking, with Sergio Perez and Pastor Maldonado inside and their respective team-mates eliminated. Exciting news in this qualifying session, we see that the rookies will take positions in a circuit which is quite "pilot".
The two Renault also eliminated, something that after reading Eric Boullier statements saying that they would be a victory for leave us somewhat ashamed. They have not been able to move on to the Q3 and that does not mean to be able to fight for the victory, unless tomorrow elephants fly. Both Force india was also and Sebastian Buemi which has not been able to improve the number 17. All selling fish, all those elected in the Q3 and us preparing for a meeting of heart attack. We turn to the Q3.
The session begins with all the favorite drivers a priori with two sets of superblandos tires. McLaren, RedBull and Ferrari have been able to have the maximum number of tires in perfect conditions to give the best of themselves. Expectations in 10 minutes of meeting!
The red flag by the accident of Sergio Perez has left us ice cream by the severity of the impact. It has wrecked the car and the barriers in a lateral blow that has shrunk us the heart by the violence and the image of Sergio holding his head moments before impact. Lamentable image the track than a cruel reminds us of the danger of shooting in formula one in the streets of the Principality. In the early days Sergio has been aware and has been able to speak, what we hope that the thing does not get more.
After this serious drubbing, the session was 2: 26 to go, but had to see if the protective barrier could be repaired in time. The pole is important, but rather is the integrity of the pilots. The two and a half minutes remaining have been inconsequential in the face of a pole, taking the finally Sebastian Vettel with an incredible record of 1: 13. 556. We will be attentive to the situation of Sergio Perez to update as soon as you know something.
I'll take the words of Alonso, saying that it is very easy to criticize from the couch but the reality is that it goes very fast and this is a risk sport. Certainly, the reality is that and today we have seen it with two notices of that Cricket is very dangerous. That normally does not pass anything doesn't mean that this is a parlour game. It is sad when you read or hear opinions in other directions.

Grand Prix of Spain F1 2011: Sebastian Vettel gets an elaborate victory

This world is beginning to take a nothing rosy complexion. Sebastian Vettel achieved his fourth win of the season. German takes four of five and is monopolizing the triumphs. This time he has had to sweat as nice to the harassment of Lewis Hamilton, but it could not exceed his rival despite being its shadow the final laps.
After Sebastian Vettel came Lewis Hamilton. Half a minute of the English eventually his team-mate Jenson Button, who was taken with Mark Webber. The distance from the rest of the contenders has been very great, while at the beginning of the race it seemed that the outcome would be different.
The output has been spectacular. Fernando Alonso us ilusionaba with his anthology off to start serving him to lead the race in the first bars. The Spanish crept down to where there was no, picking up the interior of Sebastian Vettel and being on the verge of stepping on the grass. The risks he ran had their reward. It was time that came out in a decent manner, after everything that had happened at the start of this season.
Behind the Spanish Sebastian Vettel was second, third Mark Webber, fourth Lewis Hamilton and fifth Vitaly Petrov. Jenson Button sank until the 10th seat following a very bad start. It gave the impression that his career was ruined, but would not be as well. The strategies of the first swords were almost all 4 stops, less Button, which was 3. Detail that eventually allowed him to reach the final receiver of the podium.
The difference of the first four, Vettel, Hamilton, Button and Webber, with the rest has been abysmal. While the first two folded to all cars up to fifth place, that of Alonso. Red Bull and McLaren have been unreachable for the rest.
Disturbing the rhythm of the Ferrari with the hard compound, that is it has scoffs as nice to the single-seater red. Fernando Alonso filming at times almost 2 seconds slower than his rivals with the same tires. So there is nothing to do.
Finally the DRS. This system has been virtually useless in the Circuit de Catalunya, despite the 830 m available to activate it. Few overtaking have been on track using it. The Pirelli contributed a lot more to this task, although this time the difference between soft and hard was exaggerated. A server this detail the truth is that it does very funny, but what you are doing!

Sebastian Vettel not close you the door to Ferrari despite the renewal of Fernando Alonso

Yesterday morning we articulately noon with the news of the extension of the contract Fernando Alonso with Ferrari until 2016. In this way the Spanish pilot will be this season and five more with the Italian team. A detail that Sebastian Vettel does not seems to care.
The reigning world champion takes playing time as a candidate to be at the controls of the Ferrari. Luca Cordero di Montezemolo has not hidden his desire to see him dressed as red in the future. Vettel for their part have also been wanting recently. Fact or fiction, the German not seen as a problem the new contract of long duration of Alonso with Ferrari.
I do not think that he has said that the fact that Fernando and Felipe or any other driver in Ferrari make impossible that I go there. As far as I know the formula one teams have two monoplazas… This will probably have his gap in the headlines, but I'm very happy where I am.
Barely two months ago Sebastian Vettel extended his contract with Red Bull until 2014. What has made clear is that the presence of Fernando Alonso in Ferrari would not be a problem for him. But, and the Asturian would see with good eyes have German partner? To me gives me in the nose after the experience he had with Lewis Hamilton I do not believe that you have wanted to return to the enemy at home...

Grand Prix of Turkey F1 2011: Sebastian Vettel won a spectacular career

The truth is that we have experienced a spectacular Grand Prize of Turkey. A race to create the hobby with overtaking of all types and of all colors. The winner was once more Sebastian Vettel. The German leads three of four so far this season. The pilot of Red Bull has cruise speed in his defense of the title and being land of by media on their rivals.
The podium completed it Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso. Fourth concluded Lewis Hamilton, fifth Nico Rosberg and Jenson Button sixth. The positions of honor not decided until the final laps, with a struggle for you to you between Webber and Alonso who held emotion until the last turns. Finally left winning the Red Bull of the Australian and the Spanish had to settle with the last box of the podium, which apparently seen, known to many.
The output once more, was quite pleasant for Vettel. The battle took place behind. Webber did his best output and was exceeded by Rosberg. Alonso and Button are paired in the first corner, but the Spanish stayed firm and did not lose the position. Hamilton Sin instead of optimistic facing the first curve, opened more than enough and was exceeded by Alonso and Button.
The first round concluded with Vettel in the lead, followed by Rosberg, Webber, Alonso, Button and Hamilton. There he was not going to finish the thing. The show was going to start from the third round once the DRS could be activated, and the range of strategies. It seemed that there would be variety between the different teams, although at the end the best were the four stops were the pilot's head.
From the third round the race was a non-stop from overtaking. Button to Hamilton, Webber to Rosberg, Alonso to Rosberg, Hamilton to Button… They were so many that it is difficult to remember them all, and even less to remember the order in which occurred. Well it is true that the DRS showed grant an extra brute to facilitate overtaking. As commented Marc Gene and Pedro de la Rosa in the retransmission of laSexta, this time the mechanism was too much advantage.
Career came in the final moments with Vettel in head with a comfortable lead on their rivals. Alonso had perched to second place, closely followed by Webber. Button came in fourth position, with Hamilton on the heels. In both cases, the persecutors could outpace its rivals, Webber to Alonso and Hamilton to Button. In the latter case, the difference of having made a stop less was a very big burden for Button.
The bottom line that I can make the Grand Prize of Turkey is very good. A race very entertaining and emotion to the end. A shame that Fernando Alonso could not occupy the second drawer of the podium. Yet the third position is a great result which should be a turning point in their season.

Grand Prix of Turkey F1 2011: continues the dictatorship of Sebastian Vettel with his fourth consecutive pole

Four runs brought this 2011 season and four pole positions leads Sebastian Vettel. The German is used in each qualifying session while nobody SBI cough him. The reigning world champion has been far superior to its rivals at Istanbul Park. Vettel is cementing its title defense in the fight against the Cronus from Saturday, which is showing intractable.
Mark Webber has finished second to four tenths of his team-mate, with Nico Rosberg racing its attempt until the end of the Q3 and which served to be third. The Mercedes was pleasant to the Q3 surprise, Lewis Hamilton, who finished fourth, and Fernando Alonso, who ended fifth. The Spanish is paid to that position on the grid.
This has been the trust they had in Red Bull, to both Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber have reserved the second game of the Q3 soft tire for the race tomorrow. Ferrari have been saved that second game with only a lap in the final attempt, the so-called outlap Felipe Massa for its part did not take part in the Q3. Ferrari's strategy or problems with your car? It should not be forgotten that they had to change the engine to its 150 ? Italy Ferrari after the last session of free practice.
In the Q1 Kamui Kobayashi was linked to the fixed six that do not normally reach the Q2, the two Hispania F1 Racing Team of Narain Karthikeyan and Vitantoni Liuzzi, the couple of Virgin Racing formed by Jerome D'Ambrosio and Timo Glock and both Team Lotusboth Jarno Trulli as Heikki Kovalainen. In the case of the Japanese a problem prevented him from marking time and had to leave the session ahead of schedule.
The Q2 was, as always, more exciting than the previous round. Occasionally there is some unexpected misfortune, and this time the shock almost takes Nick Heidfeld. The German Renault almost does not happen until the Q1, but at the last minute cut managed to save the furniture in extremis; It was fought by just 24 thousandths. They were by the way, Rubens Barrichello, Adrian Sutil, Paul di Resta, Pastor Maldonado, Sergio Perez, Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari.
Tomorrow we will witness a race with one interesting range of strategies. The pilots who have chosen to reserve games of tyres with regard to the race, and of those who have chosen to secure a good place on the grid to cope with a more comfortable position booting and with fewer scares.

Grand Prix of Turkey F1 2011: Sebastian Vettel again in all the senses, and Michael Schumacher a one thousandth

It has not needed more than a session to return at your own pace. Sebastian Vettel has become, in every way, although only a thousandth ahead of Michael Schumacher. It must be said that, although the Red Bull is intractable, Mercedes has been today at a very high level. In fact, after Schumacher, we have to Mark Webber and Nico Rosberg.
But there is a remarkable thing, and is that Vettel and Schumacher are four tenths ahead of its rivals, which is a world, but we must also bear in mind that Vettel has found a Hispania in the drawn on his lap, and perhaps would have been able to make a time even something better.
After the Red Bull and Mercedes are the two McLaren's Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, followed by a Vitaly Petrov which continues to demonstrate their quality, and Fernando Alonso, eighth, just ahead of his teammate, Felipe Massahas ended his session early due to some problems with the engine.
Fernando, for its part, has not left to track to last half an hour since the beginning of the session. Half of this session, lost, and I lost because the faces in the Scuderia were a poem. Some problem has existed in the seat of the Asturian language, and this is worrying, the hydraulic problems yesterday.
In addition, 10 minutes to the end of the meeting, more hydraulic problems have been reproduced in the Ferrari 150 ? Italy Alonso, and their meeting over at that time, not to return to track. Week-end complicated, therefore for the Ferrari number five, which already suffered hydraulic problems in yesterday.
As for Jaime Alguersuari, has suffered a departure from runway, caused by mechanical problems to 37 minutes for the end of the session, and it has lost about 20 minutes of meeting. A penalty for the pilot of Catalan, although it has at least not been without leaving to track in this third third free practice session, which is what seemed at first.
In the end, Jaime has been 17th, ahead of Kamui Kobayashi and six cars of the three new teams of the past year, and it is that they are still far away. Even Team Lotus, which appeared to take, during the offseason, following a second nearest car, and that is, today, still a world.
Finally, what of the Hispania? They have occupied their usual vigesimotercera and 24th position, but Liuzzi is only two-tenths of Timo Glock. Bearing in mind that D'Ambrosio will emerge from the last position after receiving a penalty, if Liuzzi exceeds Glock, it could leave the 23rd position.

Grand Prix of Turkey F1 2011: rain, hydroplaning, and Sebastian Vettel accident

First Turkey 2011 Grand Prix free practice have been marked by rain and water on the track. This water has prevented try aerodynamic improvements in some teams 100% and at the same time has given rise to many cases of hydroplaning in the curve 11. In addition, in the last half hour of the meeting, Sebastian Vettel has crashed his car after negotiating the curve 8 and step lightly on the piano to the exit, at full acceleration. The result has been to destroy the car against protections (impact of registered 7.2G) and a red flag that has remained for 7 or 8 minutes on the track.
Seeing the repetition can be seen as the rear train loses a little before the last part of the curve, and he gets soaked piano, immediately going against barriers to correct. A mild stranger in the car, and not a problem of another kind have been the cause of the accident, because it seemed to go through the site perfectly. The result, two suspensions on the right side made powder.
Update: I added the video of the coup of Vettel, let us hope that inmediatamente… will not withdraw it

Fernando Alonso set the fastest time of the session with 1'38. 670 in a round that have wanted to try the grip "in depth", while Nico Rosberg has been in the 1'40. 072 throughout the session. It's funny but times (including Alonso) show that the runway was not for jokes, and only has been lower than the 1'39 in the event that I discussed. In fact to ten minutes from the end, eight pilots had not registered any time (Trulli, Karthikeyan - who stopped his engine before the they pass 5 minutes of meeting, - Maldonado - which would leave his Williams pulled on track at the end of the session-Perez)(, Chandok, Barrichello, Button and Lewis Hamilton). They would later be the majority.
As mentioned, Narain Karthikeyan stopped its engine just about mintos after starting the session, as we hear on the radio stopped himself, was a stop for caution as confirmed from Hispania via Twitter. Vitantonio Liuzzi Meanwhile set a good time, 1'44. 787.
The curve 11 has become an aquapark, track by very clear hydroplaning outputs have happened and we have recorded one of Timo Glock, two of Michael Schumacher, one of Vettel, Massa, Pastor Maldonado… and I believe also Buemi. Much water accumulated in that curve and limited capacity of evacuation for tires in such pools and at the speed that they undertake.
The same Michael Schumacher almost goes against the barriers in the same curve 8, has been on the verge of losing the car 5 minutes from the end (just before his second hydroplaning) and it has been saved by a hair coming out of the track.
Finally it has no set time Lewis Hamilton, we do not know exactly why. Jenson Button has marked time, Yes, but 2'00 that says absolutely nothing, most who have not had time to get the car ready, or have chosen to calm before the FP2. In any case it is strange to see that they have not left. As soon as we know how to update the post.
So, as everything is, "tiempazo" of Fernando Alonso taking into account how have others, 1.402 faster than the two Mercedes GP of Rosberg and Schumacher, and followed them by the two Renault Petrov Heidfeld and Petrov. Then the time of the meeting and again after the second round of free.

2011 F1 China GP: Sebastian Vettel, from the beginning

Sebastian Vettel does not give any chance to their rivals and send from the beginning. Six tenths would have separated from Mark Webber, with Red Bull, but more than two seconds is the difference between the German pilot and the other cars, starting with Hamilton.
Against a background of domination of Red Bull, McLaren has been the pursuers, with both cars occupying the third and fourth position. For its part, in Lotus Renault GP continue demonstrating that what happened in the first two races is not for nothing, chance.
Despite this, the meeting of Nick Heidfeld was hampered by an accident in the curve 10. With the damaged car he could no longer go in the half hour that was meeting, being thus a kind of repetition of what happened in Malaysia. But if the outcome is to be another podium, he will not mind.
Felipe Massa was the faster of the two Ferrari, as Fernando Alonso has been dedicated to aerodynamic testing rather than to prepare for the race. Both cars were returning to carry the typical painting that stain the car, to see the flow of air from the new pieces.
In Team Lotus must wonder whether get them to account that left their cars to test pilots, since Ruiz Ghazw has damaged the front of his car, with Jarno Trulli not too happy in this regard. After what happened with Chandhok, is the second you see a test pilot "abusing" the car.
Finally, an interesting comment on point is that, while Timo Glock was part of the session in the garage, with problems, when he scored his time, he was a tenth behind Liuzzi, which in turn was three tenths behind the other pilot of Virgin, Jerome D'Ambrosio. Perhaps will things be in Hispania as it said Vitantonio?

Grand Prix of Malaysia F1 2011: second consecutive pole for Sebastian Vettel

Very exciting qualifying session for the Grand Prize of Malaysia of F1, began like a theoretical battle between McLaren and RedBull, just as we have seen that they have gone the last free practice, which ended unchanged. Sebastian Vettel repeats in the first place, but this time with less difference with his pursuers. Perhaps we thought already principle that Ferrari would be back in a natural way, and why we got a pleasant surprise after the meeting.
In all parts of this qualifying session there has been fighting and emotion, the first thing we got is the good news of the classification of HRT for the race, largely surpassing the 107%, and then setting aside than expected with McLaren and RedBullWe see Fernando Alonso and Ferrari something closer. But just something.

HCT comes first with soft, desperate to reach 107%. During the first stages of the Q1 seemed within this limit (remember that the rule applies only in the Q1, naturally). Shortly after starting, one of the side pontoons that cover the engine of the Rosso Buemi Toro jumps through the air as a role of smoking, and comes out red flag. Upon the resumption of the Cronus, 12: 00 and with all the work to be done for some teams.
Ferrari come with soft to pass the cut Yes or Yes. Zero risk here but in first undertook the Q3 to spend that soft game. Do not give very good feeling, but they manage to pass the Q1 without disheveled. 107% At that time was four tenths behind Liuzzi, the two Hispania were 5 minutes of qualifying. But missing the Lotus and the RedBull.
The Q2 seemed that you threatened rain, but.... Began the two Toro Rosso setting pace but soon Hamilton put forward and we expected to see Webber, if we were being cheated or really had problems. But we deceived. But Mark 1'36. 080 while Vettel stopped the Cronus with 1'35. 934. Button marked 1'35. 569 with soft also and the differences with hard tires are brutal. Alonso remained with mediated fifth the Q2.
Hamilton caused Rosberg fell into the abyss despite a brutal blockade of wheels of the English, the Hamilton House brand. Rosberg reacted to smash their times, while the two Sauber improved his times in an attempt to move to Schumacher and Buemi's rating. Difficult but exciting end of Q2. Total, Rosberg and Schumacher eliminated, Kobayashi and eliminated Buemi.
He began the Q3 with little hope for Ferrari, with 0 soft tyres (so it seemed), and with the Renault with good games, the thing was bad painting. McLaren and Red Bull pulled from the outset and it seemed very clear that they dominasen to the end, and furthermore Alonso comes out with soft usados… amazing! Perhaps the game had in Q1, but at first seemed a new, say, gaffe. The fact is that it was a new game, as if it were a sleight of hand or what we have seen.
Alonso is superior to his teammate clearly, and it has been ahead of Petrov and Heidfeld, this is the quality of our champion, while Massa stayed in the seventh octave position ahead of Petrov, Rosberg and Kobayashi. The thing is as well, with the first with a devastating Cronus Vettel (although there was a yellow flag on the track), with spectacular Hamilton behind nothing of time and Webber, Button not followed so much distance.

Sebastian Vettel is still complaining about the buttons and foreshadowed a pilots strike

Since he began the season, Sebastian Vettel has been one of the pilots more critical with the excess of buttons on the steering wheel of cars. The arrival of the mobile phone rear spoiler and the KERS has added two important buttons to the usual. Now try to find the appropriate button when you go to 300 kilometers per hour is a bit trickier. Something that does not seem logical and without a doubt it is a security issue for pilots. Where do those flyers from the 80's with only two buttons?.
If the situation is agudizase dangerous way, I think that we would have the strength to impose our decision
This could be a personal complaint of Vettel, but bearing in mind that the German is one of the three representatives of the pilots within the Association of pilots, the GPDA, their complaints may rise a little more and have more value. While in these complaints Sebastian Vettel has come to declare that if the situation does not change, the pilots will be raised to strike. A sufficiently strong and clear cry as the FIA taking letters on the matter quickly.
There are several options, so far as to not run if a dangerous situation has not changed. We are going to talk to the International Federation to find a reasonable solution, before finishing in a strike

GP Australia F1 2011: Sebastian Vettel scares at the third session of free practice

Sebastian Vettel scares at the third session of free practice, after eight tenths to teammate Mark Webber and a whole to Lewis Hamilton, third runner-up of the meeting, with Jenson Button just be put back. The McLaren are still there.
After the two teams which today seem to be stronger, Vitaly Petrov, with Lotus Renault GP, followed by Fernando Alonso, sixth, and a surprising Kamui Kobayashi. Completing the top ten have to Nico Rosberg, Nick Heidfeld and Michael Schumacher, in the second Mercedes.
Jaime Alguersuari has been rather up in the standings for a long time, but in the end some times of the fastest drivers have left you more behind. Despite this, a thirteenth position isn't wrong. But the Toro Rosso can aspire to a lot more.
In Hispania, after the failure of the meeting of yesterday, they tried to get out today to track again, but after a mysterious problem that the team has not been able to identify, the car of Vitantonio Liuzzi has stopped after just one lap on the track.
narain karthikeyan, for its part, It was able to go to track and set a time, although it has been seventeen seconds slower than the fastest time of Vettel. For now, by the statements of Liuzzi after their problems, does not seem to be very confident to get out to the race on Sunday.
Within little more than an hour, the first official training session will take place, with many unknowns still to reveal, because, despite all that we have seen, I have the feeling that we know all the truth about the performance of the equipment.

GP Australia F1 2011: Sebastian Vettel sweeps with his pole position

Just finished the first qualifying session Australia 2011 F1 GP and boat soon have more of the same with Sebastian Vettel on pole with a Cronus that, really, scary. 1'23. 529. I must say first of all that expect me more emotion in this qualifying session but on the one hand limitation of the number of games of tires and on the other the character of "1 back tires" of soft gums have removed a little sauce to the matter.
Behind Vettel, a surprising Lewis Hamilton caught the second position and Mark Webber stayed third but nothing happy. The gaze to the front wing of the Vettel was curious, but above all a big disadvantage between the two Red Bull drivers wonder. Fernando Alonso fifth, It has done as much to what aspiring according to what we have seen in the session.
There have been surprises, especially bad. Decepcionante home season for Nick Heidfeld, that when everything indicated that he would be the height of Petrov, but more forward, It has been out to the first Exchange in the Q1. Michael Schumacher at the same time, has also been one of the pilots out of the classification with the label of disappointment, but it should be very careful tomorrow in the race to see her run as both Shumacher and Brawn leading the wall. Rubens Barrichello made a rather unusual mistake, making a spin being beached in the gravel, eliminated in the first Exchange in the Q2 and causing a yellow flag that could have resulted in disaster for many pilots.
By the bottom of the table, the disappointment with capital letters is see how the two Hispania were outside the 107%, something if they have succeeded in overcoming the two Virgin Racing. And that is what escama me, how have not been inside the 107% have done before, and that Hispania with the handful of laps have given has been at the Gates seems a priori unfair.
There will be time to analyze the actions of Alonso and Alguersuari as it is usual in separate articles. My impression is that Jaime took a step forward with good times in the Cronus has been after Michael Schumacher, at 12th position, and that Fernando Alonso has lacked something not is whether in the car or it (the official version is that the circumstances have changed and the car did not respond as) (expected) but I think that it has solved the ballot with very good note.
Oh, and for those who gave for buried McLaren, now they see it. When it comes to deciding things McLaren is where proper. It is a great team, has a very good team of pilots, and although the race is tomorrow I believe that they have shown that where there is, it can be drawn. Quick note to comment on good performances by Sergio Perez, Paul Di Resta and Pastor Maldonado, 13, 14 and 15 in Grill finally.
In conclusion, to go leaving room for the analysis of this first classification of the year, I think that the current format and technical conditions imposed this season you will benefit even more to the best drivers on a single return (see Vettel time)(, see benefits of Buemi) and is detrimental to the same extent as drivers that improve in the "second good round". Eye to the adjustable rear wing that can give some scare as that given to Adrian Sutil at the entrance to the goal line, and I am worried about what will be the wear of tyres in career. But that morning. Now, table of times and we are still analysing.
