Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: Fernando Alonso will be third at Silverstone

Rain has turned into a small hassle in the classification of Grand Prix of Great Britain. Fell some drops in the Q1 and somewhat less in the Q3, although sufficiently that pilots andaran walked carefully. The best times were recorded in the first attempt in the Q3, what that ultimately served to Fernando Alonso to go third in the race Sunday morning.
This time will not be Sebastian Vettel as far as German concluded second and will be the first opponent will be Fernando Alonso in the snatch. The Ferrari has been at 117 thousandths of Mark Webber pole.
In the Q1 it limited to set a good time and otherwise butterfly, not without shocks. He lost control in one of the curves, but it managed to avoid impacting against the protections, not without a long excursion through the gravel. The rain was virtually ruled out for the day on Saturday, but made an appearance and upset the plans that had not done the homework in time. Fernando Alonso passed smoothly to the Q2.

With the track still slightly wet because the drops that fell in the final moments of the Q1, the Spanish pilot did not hurry to go out to shoot. When did it, he left with the tyres soft to avoid setbacks. His first attempt took things in stride, but in the second as took it seriously which served to mark the third best Cronus.
At the moment of truth, the Q3, the best times were recorded in the first attempts of the Favorites, with Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel fastest. There was a feint to try again, but the rain had slightly wet asphalt and the cronos hardly going to improve, so everyone went by where it came from.
Morning did not rule out that it could be the rain. In a climate as changeable and special as it is the British, anything can happen. For now Fernando Alonso will be well placed in the grid and aspires to everything. The victory? I her don't exclude tomorrow at Silverstone.

Grand Prix of Europe F1 2011: free first with Webber in the lead, third Alonso

Returns the action to track and back with much more movement in a first session of free than it expected. Nice but with much time humidity, some cloud than another, but in general the track conditions seem to be kind. There have been all exits of track, intensity of work in boxes, work on the track, and although they have finally met probably programmes predefined in each team and the positions of classification not say much, hence we have to Mark Webber first, followed Petrov and Alonso.
Nico Hulkenberg caused a yellow flag shortly before the first half hour, the first part more free practice stop, when to stop for the curve 12 lost stability and hit against the wall. Nothing serious, given little damage and in one couple of minutes all cleared, and another thing. Before continuing I can not comment on two things: Sergio Perez has returned, and Sebastian Vettel has been the 16th with the new Pirelli PZero White. Interestingly.

Sergio Perez has returned to the wheel of his Sauber and has done so at 100% it seems (touch wood), 20 laps and placing 14 ahead of Pastor Maldonado and Sebastian Vettel. For its part Jaime Alguersuari has been ahead of Daniel Ricciardo to more than two-tenths, also within the top 10. This is good, very good news, at least for the moment and thanks to the extra motivation that I guess it will be run in Spain. So I say now, I hope to eat potatoes with the words I had towards Alguersuari on its continuity or not…
The two Ferrari worked well during the meeting, although not have been able to approach to the times of Mark Webber, with a 1'40. 403 is the driver faster with nearly 9 tenths on Vitaly Petrov. Striking Russian although Nick Heidfeld was fifth. Behind the two McLarens have been fourth (Lewis Hamilton) and seventh (Jenson Button) and complete the top 10 three pilots of other many teams: the eighth Adrian Sutil, Nico Rosberg ninth and as said, Jaime Alguersuari tenth. We will return with more chicha surely after second free practice that will compete at 14: 00.

Pole of Bruno Spengler at the Eurospeedway Lausitz. Third of the year

Following the excellent results achieved by Martin Tomczyk at the Red Bull Ring of Spielberg, pole and victory at the wheel of an Audi A4 in 2008, it seems that things have returned to a more logical place. The current leader of the Championship, and poleman in Hockenheim and Zandvoort, Bruno Spengler, has achieved the pole-position in the fourth meeting of the season at the Eurospeedway Lausitz. The pilot of Mercedes-Benz takes third pole of the season, showing that on the day of the Sabbath is the fastest and the qualification of the Red Bull Ring was a blur.
Along with Spengler, and completing a first-line Mercedes-Benz, the British Jamie Green. Just from behind, Mattias Ekstrom has recovered from the failure of the previous appointment and with the great feeling of the season, Martin Tomczyk, completed a second-row Audi. Paffet, Jarviz, Kristensen and Albuquerque complete the Top8. In the case of Danish, it's a magnificent result after year and a half without uploading to a DTM.
Among those who have not been within expectations, with a 2009 specification should be called get into Q3 at least, Timo Scheider, ninth and Ralf Schumacher, who has returned to make your own and will come out tomorrow from the seventeenth position. For its part, Miguel Molina will depart from the eleventh position, just behind Christian Vietoris.

Canada F1 2011 Grand Prix: best time of Sebastian Vettel at the third session of free practice

At the 3rd meeting of free, practice better time has been for Sebastian Vettel. Therefore, we have things very matches in the absence of the qualifying session for the Grand Prize of Canada 2011 only. Behind him, at the top we find also Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg, confirming the performance of the Ferrari and Mercedes.
Felipe Massa, for its part, has achieved fourth place, and just behind him, both McLaren and Michael Schumacher with his Mercedes. We could say that the top four teams were very evenly matched here in Montreal, so the classification within a few hours ahead and the race tomorrow, anything would be tremendously emocionatne, that I'm sure.
The top ten it have completed Vitaly Petrov and the two Force India, with Adrian Sutil ahead. Since then, the Mercedes engine will be much helped team Vijay Mallya, which has considerably improved its performance on previous races. In fact, yesterday Paul di Resta because he had a very prominent role in the second free practice.
As for our other pilots of House, Jaime Alguersuari has succeeded in 14th position, while Pedro de la Rosa has completed in a correct seventeenth plaza, blemished only by a track exit where yesterday had his accident Kamui Kobayashi. Pedro has come out by itself in the foot, although he had doubts about the State of your gearbox. It will have to see it then.
Hispania, for its part, has had a remarkably good meeting, with Vitantonio Liuzzi ahead of the two Virgin, and Narain Karthikeyan ahead of one of them. One could say that, so far, Hispania beats the departure to Virgin, although we will have to wait for tomorrow, because what is truly account. Anyway, is a good feeling, which should be in the Spanish team.
One of the negative points of the meeting is for Mark Webber, who has had problems in his KERS that have prevented him from leaving to spin at the last session of free practice. A penalty for the Australian, who is not having a too bright season, following a 2009 and 2010 very competitive. To see if it will get be ahead this time.
By the way, that when you get the qualifying session, we will have to be very outstanding of the sky, because at the end was really cloudy. Will come the rain? We'll see it in a few hours!

Alain Menu takes the pole at Hungaroring. Javi Villa third

img_6441.jpg

The superiority demonstrated by the Chevrolet during what have been season has become to certify in the qualifying session. Alain Menu is towards the pole with with a time of one minute and 56,546 seconds, while in second place was teammate Yvan Muller to little more than a tenth the time marked by the Swiss.

The best news has been the time marked by Javier Villa in this Q2 which has allowed it to be behind the two official Chevrolet of Menu and Muller and obviously as a first private of the classification in front of the also BMW 320 of Tom Coronel and Norbert Michelisz have ended in fourth and fifth position respectively.

In the Hungarian circuit also have seen the Seat Leon with the new engine 1.6 turbo, contrary to what you said in my post on the Seat Ibiza SC trophy, which as you said my commented Igor the other day have not completed to the performance expected in a route which would have been as ring to the finger to the ancient Tdi of the Spanish brand.

The better classified with the Leon has been Tiago Monteiro with the old engine 2.0, while none of the units that mounted the new propellant It has been able to get into the Top Ten. In the second race Javi villa will be released from her tenth position after having set the fastest time of the Q, while Mehdi Bennani will come from the pole.

GP of Monaco F1 2011: Fernando Alonso flies in third free practice

Little by little, it was an assumption, is becoming a reality. Ferrari and more specifically Fernando Alonso, are competitive. The Asturian has blown up in the third free practice. His best time was half runner-up more quickly than Jenson Button, the second a fairly eventful session.
The first worrying moment of the session so we have lived with the accident of Nico Rosberg just after the tunnel. Initially, the coup is very similar to which took Vitantonio Liuzzi yesterday. But the Mercedes driver has had the bad luck of "bounce", after the impact with the guardrails, and the car has gone ahead without control, jumping the badenes of the Nouvelle Chicane.
In the end, the own Mercedes has avoided a coup with the barrier that separates the line to the curve "tabac" and the loophole, because the right front wheel of his Mercedes had already assigned. Luckily, therefore we had no regret any injury of the German, since pilot that the accident has become an important, fright but nothing more.
Because of the accident, have lost ten minutes of meeting, the time that has gone on the red flag. That's not been the only complicated time who has lived in Monaco, and is that Vitantonio Liuzzi has impacted Ste. Devote, and it shattered his Hispania. It's funny, because the blow did not appear strong enough to have the damage has been suffered.
A pity, as this means almost in complete safety, that Liuzzi will not challenge the classification. Career management decision will be seeing if the Italian rider will be repescado and may leave tomorrow in the race. So far, made today by the Hispania times have been within 107% of the best time, so there are still hopes for Liuzzi.
We must also take into account in the Red Bull, which because of red flags have yet to go out with superblandos tires, marking very impressive times with the soft (here to play the role of "hard"). It is very possible that we get to see some 1: 13 in classification, by the Red Bull cars.
Precisely, the young Red Bulls, those of the Italian equipi, have today had a good role in the streets of Monaco. Although Jaime Alguersuari has suffered a flat tire and brake problems, has been eighth, just ahead of his teammate. It is important that a circuit like this, where they have hands, Catalan do so well.
In any case, we have to Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes, clear, Red Bull, in a handkerchief, and no one know what could happen in formal training that will be competing in less than two hours. Well, I personally think that Red Bull will by again, but it must take into account many other pilots. Today we we will have fun.

Roberto Merhi won the third race of the F3 Euro Series Hockenheim

Yesterday, with his victory in the third and last race of the F3 Euro Series Hockenheim, Robert Merhi completed a sensational weekend. Of the three tests, he won two and signed a fourth position in another due to the sanctions imposed by the Commissioners for making an advancement beyond the limits of the track.
Dani Juncadella did not have a bad record in the German layout. He achieved the victory in the second test and had a fourth and a sixth in the other two races. These results allow two Spanish pilots to take the lead their rivals in the classification of the world.
The race virtually went smoothly for Merhi. Taking advantage of the poor start of Marco Wittmann, he took the lead in the first moments and did not give option to the rest. Dani Juncadella finished fourth after having to go to the grass while trying to overtake Wittman in the snatch and lose a couple of positions as a result.
So, Roberto Merhi leads the classification of the world with 95 points, while that Dani Juncadella going to lag behind with 76 points. Third is Marco Wittmann with 75. Within two weeks, we will attend the third test of the world of the F3 Euro Series, to be held in the circuit of Zandvoort in the Netherlands.

Motorpasión F1 in the spirit of Montjuïc: third day

Ends the spirit of Montjuic at the Circuit de Catalunya. As in the past two days, Motorpasion F1 was present. If yesterday was a day of training largely, today was the day of the races, a Sunday of racing any from the middle of the 70 or 80 years. Without a doubt, a final more than worthy for a spectacular event, that has made us enjoy as nice three fantastic days.
Yesterday the Circuit de Catalunya had looked back over time. Today, Montmelo evoked the feeling of the glorious of the auto racing competition era, yet with more success than yesterday or the day before yesterday. However, the influx of public has noticed increasing once the of Malaysia of formula one Grand Prix had been completed. A number of people which, as expected, has been exceeding the view in the previous days.
Throughout the day have been running at all time machine the carousel and the cars of shock, and the same has happened with the group that was encouraging the atmosphere, which has hardly stopped in all the time. Now it miss to see if the Organization of the event feels that the amount of public has been sufficient as to do this again next year. Here's one that special esperacon illusion to return in 2012.
As for the races, we have seen today that "hidden" side we had not seen yesterday, and it is that it should not be forgotten that, even if they are classic races, they are still racing, and pilots are still pilots. They struggle to maintain its position as much as any other. For this reason we have seen movements risky but exciting, especially considering that the vehicles are not exactly new, modern or as safe.
In the morning, passenger cars before 1966 have taken the track, with a career of entertaining for opening hours and whet your and be prepared for what came later. Because the second race of the day has been a career of Can Am + Interseries. These vehicles are amazing to see, and we must make a special mention for the Matra 670c, whose engine has an absolutely beautiful sound.
After the Can Am, the GT's returned to make your own, with an interesting career which started with a time behind the Safety Car, but he has not seen more problems than that which has ended with relative calm, but always with excitement. Perhaps that emotion is which has lacked the career of the Group C, because that four cars in track, while the Sauber-Mercedes C11 leading cannot be called exciting.
However, this was offset by the fact of seeing a historic car such as the Sauber-Mercedes C11, so, as you say, "something is something". But the main dish of the day came later, with the race of formula 1 Classic, again with the presence of Joaquim Folch. This has been a repeat of yesterday, with the Brabham fighting for victory, although this time Folch has been further away from the victory, although he has repeated second place.
Completed formula one has come a bit of a break for lunch, break that has taken the Organization to return to get the Montjuic formula one team to track vehicles. Important to mention that the Porsche 917 K has not come out today. The story of this part of the day, in any case, has been that has starred in the Ferrari 512 of the Montjuic formula one team.
After the only round that had to be done, and after having passed the chequered flag, the two other cars of the Spanish team have stopped to boxes, but 512 has continued shooting, and it has just stopped when a Commissioner has been situated in the middle of the line of goal with a red flag. Without a doubt, I would have done the same; If you give me a Ferrari 512, I also would never stop.
After noon, they have become the races. First the GT's prior to 1966 made his final appearance, with a duel closed between Jaguar and Cobra, which it has paid off with a second victory, this time. It was the second race of the Can Am + Interseries, with the traditional "output false" from the paddock of the circuit, which did very much enjoy the audience of that time.
To finish the races, have later come motorcycles again, to give the last show of the weekend competition. Once finished the final race, the Circuit de Catalunya has lived several exhibitions sponsored by Motor classic, and has been the concluding events of the event, which has gone round, or the less that has seemed from the outside.
Want now, probably from the Circuit de Catalunya to work for the career of the Masters Series, which is basically what we have been seeing over the weekend, is a scoring race for 2012 championship, since in 2011 was not scoring race. It is clear that far for next year, but if the Circuit they are serious, they will be ready to make it even better.
I hope that this Assembly I has been fun and exciting for all those that have gone to the circuit, coming from close or far, and that you liked enough to want to go next year, if the destination you want as well. In the event that there is a spirit of Montjuic 2012, a server will be there again.

Malaysia F1 2011 GP: Lewis Hamilton and McLaren strike back at the third session of free practice

Rain still does not make an appearance at the Sepang circuit, despite how badly that painted the things only two days ago. In this context, in a circuit of Sepang that moment remains dry, the best time of the third session of free practice has been to Lewis Hamilton.
The truth is that at some point in the session seemed that Ferrari is not as bad as it might have seemed yesterday. Both Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa had good laps during the session, rather than all the major drivers began to lower his times.
But in the final minutes, both Red Bull pilots as drivers of McLaren and, in the lower instance, Lotus Renault Grand Prix, have much lowered its times. There is no doubt that Ferrari may not be happy. A sixth position from Alonso and Massa eighth is not what they want.
It is clear that we are in the same always. Free practice are not formal training, and those who have are those who will then see, but you have to understand that free third parties tend to be an indicator of what lies ahead, though sometimes Red Bull hides a little.
As for Jaime Alguersuari, has only been able to be 17th, to average tenth of his teammate, who was 15th. Logically, the Catalan pilot seemed not very satisfied at the end of the meeting, although he is very motivated, due to the great race held here last year.
One of the interesting comment on today's things is that in Hispania been close reach within the hypothetical 107% of the session. Specifically talk about a seven hundredths, which has spread to the hypothetical 107% of the time of Vitantonio Liuzzi, while Karthikeyan would have been to three tenths.
This means that little by little the pilots of Hispania are approaching. If all goes well, as they expect it to be, they could be classified both cars, in the best cases. They will certainly wait that the fastest pilots do not make their best times on the Q1, which would give them a small advantage in this regard.

GP Australia F1 2011: Sebastian Vettel scares at the third session of free practice

Sebastian Vettel scares at the third session of free practice, after eight tenths to teammate Mark Webber and a whole to Lewis Hamilton, third runner-up of the meeting, with Jenson Button just be put back. The McLaren are still there.
After the two teams which today seem to be stronger, Vitaly Petrov, with Lotus Renault GP, followed by Fernando Alonso, sixth, and a surprising Kamui Kobayashi. Completing the top ten have to Nico Rosberg, Nick Heidfeld and Michael Schumacher, in the second Mercedes.
Jaime Alguersuari has been rather up in the standings for a long time, but in the end some times of the fastest drivers have left you more behind. Despite this, a thirteenth position isn't wrong. But the Toro Rosso can aspire to a lot more.
In Hispania, after the failure of the meeting of yesterday, they tried to get out today to track again, but after a mysterious problem that the team has not been able to identify, the car of Vitantonio Liuzzi has stopped after just one lap on the track.
narain karthikeyan, for its part, It was able to go to track and set a time, although it has been seventeen seconds slower than the fastest time of Vettel. For now, by the statements of Liuzzi after their problems, does not seem to be very confident to get out to the race on Sunday.
Within little more than an hour, the first official training session will take place, with many unknowns still to reveal, because, despite all that we have seen, I have the feeling that we know all the truth about the performance of the equipment.

Sergio Pérez Gets the best time on the third day of tests at Montmeló

Surprise on the third day of tests at Montmelo, with Sergio Perez getting the best time, just ahead of Felipe Massa and Mark Webber. In addition, the Sauber driver has improved while yesterday was Sebastian Vettel, and is, therefore, the pilot who has shot more quickly in Barcelona so far.
In the morning, to get the break, the surprise already has jumped in the form of a round very fast by Sergio Perez, which already highlighted the first day. The time of the Sauber driver was faster than the fastest time of Sebastian Vettel yesterday, which was very surprised in the paddock. T

Behind him, Felipe Massa has been the second time, to three points, just ahead of Mark Webber, with the Sauber. In the back, D'Ambrosio still find speed in the Virgin, while Jarno Trulli only had been able to give six laps due to several technical problems on the T128 Lotus.
In the afternoon there has been too many changes, and in fact, for the third consecutive day, the day's fastest lap has been checked in the morning. After the two favorite cars for 2011, Rubens Barrichello and Michael Schumacher finish with the top five.
After the German pilot of Mercedes, his compatriot Nick Heidfeld and A surprising Heikki Kovalainen, "only" two seconds of the best time of the day, which is a major improvement on what we had seen so far in the team of Tony Fernandes.
As for Jaime alguersuari, has done many laps in the day, especially in the face of simulated racing, and has been followed in the line of Red Bull and Toro Rosso, testing many stops in boxes. Catalan has been tenth, in contrast to the good results of Buemi.
