Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: Mark Webber gets pole position
Nine of nine, the Red Bull pole this year. Tenth continuously, if we take into account the Abu Dhabi 2010, and the third consecutive at Silverstone. Mark Webber takes pole position in a final session marked by a few drops of water that have "killed" a possible final emocioante with three drivers on the grid with options primers.
Sebastian Vettel will accompany the other Red Bull in the first row of the grid, while the second row will be all red with Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa. Come in pairs, and the third row will have the colors of the "Union Jack", with Jenson Button and Paul di Resta. The seventh position is for a particularly inspired Pastor Maldonado, who will be accompanied by Kamui Kobayashi.
The dedepcion of the day is perhaps the tenth place of Lewis Hamilton, that despite everything, will be spared tyres that he very well could go tomorrow. He will be accompanied in the fifth row of the grid by Nico Rosberg, the first of the two Mercedes in a not particularly good session for the silver arrows. Schumacher said, a good result could be achieved only with rain on Sunday.
On the topic of the weekend, in principle it seems that all of the teams has imposed limit of 10% of expulsion of gases, and a meeting will take place the next week to decide as the case in the following races is. Christian Horner said, outside of cameras and microphones, who believes that his team competes in less favourable conditions, this weekend.
Grand Prix of Great Britain F1 2011: free first with Mark Webber first
Quite acceptable two Ferrari's performance, with Fernando Alonso leading the table during times of rain, many incidents in form of track outputs and a relatively strong blow to Kamui Kobayashi, and the note curious to see Lewis Hamilton riding slicks when even rained. It is always surprising.
As we say, many spins and exits of track, the first to open the veda was Fernando Alonso in his return from installation, doing a spin likely to tempt the limits of adhesion, followed by Buemi with passing of braking and walk through the gravel. A Buemi which incidentally has been behind Jaime Alguersuari (1 tenth slower), being Catalan the fourth classified during the first part of the training, in wet conditions.
Kobayashi (first with a small output and then with a blow that we discuss shortly), Vettel, Sergio Perez, Michael Schumacher… are drivers who have had encounters with the outer part of the track in a well wet session. Kobayashi accident was precisely on the goal line, when entering long past stepped on the Green surface with two left wheels, and stepping in a show of optimism, continued on to fund when it lost control and crashed into the barriers. Perhaps avoidable, since then a blow and an unexpected expense for Sauber.
With respect to the Red Bull, as I have said nothing to mention except for tours of Vettel, the first in the first curve, perhaps too accustomed to the total grip, but really there is nothing to indicate we have difficulties airlifts in comparison with previous Grands Prix. Later, while he was detained in boxes, we have seen leaving a suspicious of his smoke, but the thing has not passed for the elderly. We do not know if it could be the KERS, but it had similarities to the incident of Webber with the same weeks ago.
Hamilton with slicks while the track was still wet was one of the curiosities of this session, more than anything because it maintained a rate too low in a sustained manner, with small outputs of the trajectory, and the truth, the reasons for that test unknown them. Later with the dry track relevant times he could do, but this evidence at that time did not understand it too.
As a final note, we saw Webber with the car stopped at the pit entrance once finished the meeting, without gasoline? Another problem? Vote for the first option because I did not understand if they said something on the radio, but the engine was switched off. In two hours we will focus on the second session of free, you no falteis.
Grand Prix of Europe F1 2011: Sebastian Vettel WINS and Mark Webber makes him a favour covering the shoulders
The German Red Bull driver takes 186 possible 200 points, a staggering 93 per cent of the total. So there will not be who put in doubt that defended its world title. We have not passed the equator of this 2011 and it is only 70 points which earned in 2010. Very ugly you have to put everything that Sebastian Vettel will not become world champion. All this Fernando Alonso was second and Mark Webber third in the race.
The start, once again, was quiet for Sebastian Vettel. Mark Webber was not started well but he was allowed to retain his position favored because Lewis Hamilton fell asleep. Fernando Alonso tried to plug holes with those who came behind arrimando is the McLaren of the English, but Felipe Massa passed as an arrow between the two putting third momentarily. Momentarily because Spanish in a hurry of braking master rose from fifth place to third. He played the all and went it well.
A. from there Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso started a nice duel remained almost until the end of the race. In a very nice move inside the Spanish managed to overtake the Australian. False alarm, because he returned the play boxes. It gave the impression that Alonso was going to have to settle for third place.
His opportunity came in the last pit stop. Webber changed the tire half a lap before Alonso, what it took to teeth, stay on track and try to get out in front of his rival. This time the move went well and the Spanish stood in front of the Australian, but without options versus Sebastian Vettel. Mark Webber had slowed lot Fernando Alonso, and the difference between the German was unable to cut. The pace of Ferrari was quite good during the entire race.
The cross was for McLaren. Lewis Hamilton had many problems with the compounds of Pirelli and ended more than 46 seconds of Sebastian Vettel. Jenson Button, for its part, ended a minute for the winner. The Valencia circuit is choked and both McLaren MP4-26.
Jaime Alguersuari completed a great Sunday finishing eighth, same position where the Grand Prize of Canada equaled his best result this season. Sergio Perez returned to surprise friends and strangers making just one stop on the Valencia Street Circuit, something that almost all were impossible.
The DRS has little helped to facilitate overtaking the Valencia Street Circuit. Very few and very tight. The designed urban layout blessed by Hermann Tilke is boring most of the current schedule of formula one. Up in the Monaco Grand Prix I remember more overtaking than in the European Grand Prix.
Grand Prix of Europe F1 2011: free first with Webber in the lead, third Alonso
Returns the action to track and back with much more movement in a first session of free than it expected. Nice but with much time humidity, some cloud than another, but in general the track conditions seem to be kind. There have been all exits of track, intensity of work in boxes, work on the track, and although they have finally met probably programmes predefined in each team and the positions of classification not say much, hence we have to Mark Webber first, followed Petrov and Alonso.
Nico Hulkenberg caused a yellow flag shortly before the first half hour, the first part more free practice stop, when to stop for the curve 12 lost stability and hit against the wall. Nothing serious, given little damage and in one couple of minutes all cleared, and another thing. Before continuing I can not comment on two things: Sergio Perez has returned, and Sebastian Vettel has been the 16th with the new Pirelli PZero White. Interestingly.
Sergio Perez has returned to the wheel of his Sauber and has done so at 100% it seems (touch wood), 20 laps and placing 14 ahead of Pastor Maldonado and Sebastian Vettel. For its part Jaime Alguersuari has been ahead of Daniel Ricciardo to more than two-tenths, also within the top 10. This is good, very good news, at least for the moment and thanks to the extra motivation that I guess it will be run in Spain. So I say now, I hope to eat potatoes with the words I had towards Alguersuari on its continuity or not…
The two Ferrari worked well during the meeting, although not have been able to approach to the times of Mark Webber, with a 1'40. 403 is the driver faster with nearly 9 tenths on Vitaly Petrov. Striking Russian although Nick Heidfeld was fifth. Behind the two McLarens have been fourth (Lewis Hamilton) and seventh (Jenson Button) and complete the top 10 three pilots of other many teams: the eighth Adrian Sutil, Nico Rosberg ninth and as said, Jaime Alguersuari tenth. We will return with more chicha surely after second free practice that will compete at 14: 00.
Spain F1 2011 GP: Hamilton, Button, Webber and Alguersuari under investigation
Newly completed the Grand Prize of Spain entertaining us has come the information that Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Mark Webber and Jaime Alguersuari are under investigation. The reason is that not brought the foot with yellow track flags, as indicated by the rules in this regard.
The FIA has not indicated in that point of the race ignored those flags, but it is assumed that it was when Heikki Kovalainen had his accident, 17 laps from the end. However with the passage of 20 seconds that could receive, the positions of Hamilton, Button and Webber would remain unchanged, retaining the second, third and fourth place, respectively.
Update: the investigation had been concluded with a reprimand involved pilots, so the final classification of the Grand Prize of Spain does not change.
Newly completed the test Antonio Lobato stated that the FIA would investigate several pilots by not lowering the pace with yellow flags on track. Not I lent him much attention to the comment because I did not noticed in the names said the presenter of laSexta. Then I could confirm that the pilots quarantined were Hamilton, Button, Webber and Alguersuari.
We look forward to see how such research is developed. The FIA surprises us with its famous yardstick. Who knows?
Grand Prix of Spain F1 2011: Mark Webber Gets a great pole... with Covenant?
However, between the Q1, with strange movements where we have seen pilots more above what is usual, and the Q2 where at first didn't anyone until after a few minutes, we had good ration of interesting things. More and more we see how the classification sessions concentrated action in the last few minutes, something quite painful.
In Q1, the choice between soft and hard tyres with the time difference that exist in this Grand Prix has forced many teams to opt for the softer tyre fairly soon. It gave the sense of that in the Q3 would have to think about preserving a set of tyres or give everything. Who had it worse is Nick Heidfeld, who seemed that he would leave at the last moment with a single shot to try to get some time, but has finally been put in the box. One less.
That Yes, Renault was going very well, very strong as we saw with Petrov when he activated the DRS before finishing the last curve of the circuit. Spectacular the stability of the Renault at these speeds and with the need for support of that curve.
Which have mounted soft tyres have been able to get into the fight, although it is true that we have not seen force anyone (the Ferrari for example), or the thing badly painted for the Scuderia. For me it was nothing more than the confirmation that all except RedBull and McLaren, were quite nervous. We turn to the Q2 with Trulli, Barrichello, Glock, Liuzzi, Kharthikeyan, D'Ambrosio & deleted. Both HRT within 107%.
Both RedBull, first Vettel and Webber then have come alone to the track after a short break. Alguersuari continued them to lag behind, and everything to mark a time and see what would happen later. Superiority by one side, and a desire to pass without finding traffic on the other hand. Four minutes and then they have started dating each other. Vettel is higher, even the DRS it has been activated at the beginning of the last curve. Brutal.
I leave here the Chronicle of the Q2, but must devote some space to the other participants. All the pilots that 6 minutes away from the term were eliminated had not left: two Mercedes GP, the two Force India, a Williams and a Lotus. Finally, in a latter part of the session quite conservative, Buemi, Perez, Alguersuari, Kobayashi, Kovalainen, Di Resta and Sutil are eliminated. A surprising Maldonado passes to the Q3 while Massa is on the edge of the knife, the tenth.
All on track quickly, the session has concluded as it had to do it, with the two RedBull front and surprise (uppercase) to Fernando Alonso among the two McLarens. This fourth place is the best one could expect today and no term to understand how Alonso has improved 9 tenths in the Q3.
Impressive the last part of this Q3, not have many words that Red Bull is in another Galaxy, the McLarens are very strong and Fernando Alonso leads Ferrari where can. Massa, in this case was rather delayed. The back of Alonso without the controversial spoiler (which he gives them a tenth) has once again become book of science fiction.
Grand Prix of Spain F1 2011: first free with Mark Webber front
In the absence of half an hour to finish the session, Mark Webber led with 1: 25.142, followed by Nico Rosberg (1: 26. 379) and Fernando Alonso (1: 26. 480), while Sebastian Vettel is that less had shot so far with 5 laps to 915 and 14 of the top three. Also at that time Pastor Maldonado lost the rear of his car and stayed stuck in the gravel, ending its session as well ahead of time.
Daniel Ricciardo has become to stay ahead of Jaime Alguersuari, though presumably that today's meeting used to do fastest laps in a case and the other serves to prepare for the Grand Prix. In any case, the classification says that Ricciardo has been left in front of Alguersuari. That are relevant at the domestic level or not, we fail, or that is relevant to us or not is clearly subjective. He would prefer to see it ahead! Jaime has shot few laps in comparison with Ricciardo, 9 front 23, and on Friday it seems that normal is to shoot as possible. Problems of reliability or setup? We will see in the FP2. Since then is given by the pilot that fewer laps.
Sebastian Vettel have told again "Ok, do not use the KERS", we still do not know if it's for issues of reliability of the device either because they want to measure the gross performance of the car, something that had never thought of before and now it has happened to me. If the car is capable of responding to what Vettel requests, and that is worth to be first, it is necessary to use it? I think that not. It is a speculation, the recurring phrase of "do not use the KERS" continues hearing and you go to know why it is.
However, stood second with 25 minutes to the end of the session 1 approximate second of Mark Webber, which gives lots of information not to use the KERS. We do not know if Webber used it or not. Total, further uncertainty and many possible cabals.
More interesting things to waiting to see a new session of free practice. Sergio Perez has been with fifth place few moments ago, after shooting 26 laps and also being very ahead of his teammate, Kamui Kobayashi (17th with a time of 1: 28. 819, two seconds slower than Perez).
Felipe Massa was placed sixteenth with more than two seconds with Fernando Alonso, and in general we can say that at this meeting, in almost all teams, one of the pilots has been good while the other is positioned with considerable (and relative) difference with the first. So we will see better in the time table. Both HRT have placed themselves at the tail, but with Trulli between the two, being the faster of the two men of Hispania Vitantonio Liuzzi.
Here is the table of times with the rounds of shooting after the first session of the Grand Prize of Spain-free. We will come back with the second session at noon.
GP of China F1 2011: Mark Webber retrieves the smile
After two Grands Prix in which everything has gone wrong (at least away from than expected and we should also include the classification of yesterday), today, at last, Mark Webber has recovered the best version of himself. It was illogical for a pilot who last year fought for the title until the final race have a very considerable slump. What has given me to call the Massa syndrome.
The Australian has today made the best 24 pilots race at the track. Dating from the 18th position, without safety-cars which assist him and without a strategy it misses, Mark Webber has been the best example of the Ant that is doing his work gradually to achieve success. The third position today is a great prize. A couple of laps more and could even have aspired to steal second place teammate Sebastian Vettel.
Webber has overcome the need to remove more people than anyone else in their struggle to reach the top. And it has done at an incredible speed taking into account that it has stopped three times, as most of the world... Although it should be remembered that perhaps it is one of the main flaws of the pilot of Red Bull. Mark Webber works best in situations without pressure. When can make "their" career is a terrible driver, and has proved that today.
The problem comes when behind someone that press you. And today, the Hunter has been him and hunting a success. Without the error of yesterday, today Webber would have been a candidate course to victory, but as always the things when you have nothing to lose are better. In a match of your your, tires play, more if possible, a fundamental role. Today, attacking and to lower cars, Webber has had more control over the tires than if play you against the Vettel and Hamilton. Even so, neither German nor British have been better than the Australian on the track, what happens is that they have come much earlier.
Grand Prix of Malaysia F1 2011: Mark Webber is still the fastest
If in the first session of free practice, Mark Webber was world of rivals, at this second meeting head has tight unspeakable. The Australian, who again scored the best time, edged in only five thousandths to Jenson Button, who ended second. Third was Lewis Hamilton and fourth Sebastian Vettel. Between the two Red Bull just there was two-tenths of difference, which gives an idea of the predominant equality at this meeting among the fastest drivers.

The rain continued without appearing at this meeting, although the sky was threatening and very dark. As well as the first test free, the seconds were played they dry in its entirety. Yet we must remain vigilant to the weather because in these weather conditions change at any time and can surprise more than one.
This second session of free practice was virtually free of incidents. The shock took it Pastor Maldonado, who ended his Williams against protections and ended his day early. Vitantonio Liuzzi, for its part, caused a yellow flag to stop its f Hispania Cosworth engine.
Little more gave that talk about the latest training on Friday. In bars late the teams took advantage to shoot long rounds loaded with fuel and try the soft compound. In just 24 hours we will see the first highlight of the weekend with the qualifying round.

Grand Prix of Malaysia F1 2011: Mark Webber light years from his persecutors
In the first session of free practice for the Grand Prize of Malaysia of formula 1, the fastest time has been to Mark Webber, light years from their pursuers. The Australian has finished more than a second and a half ahead of Lewis Hamilton, second classified of the day.

Fernando Alonso, for his part, has ended the session in ninth position, after a session in which just completed a lap, like his teammate, Felipe Massa. The reason is that the Scuderia Ferrari has been carrying out various aerodynamic tests.
These aerodynamic tests have focused on a few small new pieces that the team has brought to improve performance. Paraffin, liquid of yellow colour, which stain the bodywork of the car, has been visible in some moments of the session. We will see what conclusions take on the team of Maranello.
Jaime Alguersuari, for its part, has been 13th, just behind Daniel Ricciardo, taking today of Sebastien Buemi car. Although they are free training and the result in itself means nothing, Jaime cannot be satisfied, being overcome by the Australian.
Bad luck for Lotus Renault Grand Prix in today. First, Nick Heidfeld has broken the suspension of his car, which has caused the blocking of the right front tire, after only six laps, which has finished its session. Vitaly Petrov, for its part, has become worse.
In a rapid area of the Sepang circuit, the left of his front suspension has been broken, and that has caused a departure from runway of a surprised Petrov, who has been able to do nothing to prevent the departure of track. In the end, ten laps between two cars, which is a balance very poor.
Today was the day that Hispania has released its new components. Among them, a new front and front wing which had not passed the crash-test of the FIA for Australia and Yes have done to Sepang. Unfortunately for the Spanish team, Karthikeyan has broken a motor nothing more out of boxes.
In Hispania, despite what they said few days ago, being sure of its classification, seems that the general opinion of the team is not the same. As spoken by the paddock, in Hispania is the conception of "If the car has to suffer in a site, is at Sepang".
For the moment, both cars would be out of the 107% to contest the race, if we consider the best time of Mark Webber today. But, it must be said, if we had not taken into account this time, and we call the 107% assuming that time Hamilton was on the pole, Vitantonio Liuzzi would be classified.
Little consolation for Hispania, but must take into account that at the first session nor do they have been tested as much as I would have liked, so it must be recognized that they are likely to dispute the race this Sunday, so hopefully that it will happen.

Before formula 1: Mark Webber, living a second youth

As well, and everything, the veteran pilot, well into in thirty years, it is enjoying a second youth. It gave the impression that the aussie would be one of those pilots who, with more than a hundred runs behind him, would retire without having tasted the honey of the triumph. Luckily for him, when I leave the competition, you don't have that nailed Thorn.
Early in the great circus were not easy for Webber. Having passed by Williams, Williams BMW, Jaguar and Minardi, it seemed that in Red Bull their fate was not going to change. Accustomed to try barely scratching a few dots in the races, the first two years in the energy drink team were not different to the previous ones. A picture which reversed in 2009.

That 2009 marked a turning point in the race for the Australian and Red Bull in general. The first because he realized that already not only could aspire to victories, could aim higher. The latter because they saw that they had the equipment needed to fight for everything. Their next target was to be the world, both pilots and builders.
Probably the main obstacle that had Webber has been his own teammate, Sebastian Vettel. The relationship with him has always been, how much less, tense. The first encounter between the two happened in the Grand Prize of Japan in 2007. A real downpour on Fuji was falling, and the Australian filming in second position, stalking the leader Lewis Hamilton. The German rolled in third position. In one incident to oblivion, Vettel butted Webber and both had to withdraw from the race.
The encounter of more serious and most recent among them was in the past Grand Prize of Turkey. Mark Webber came in head and Sebastian Vettel went unleashed and threatening from behind. In an arriesgadisima move, trying to get into an impossible gap, the young German and Australian veteran clashed. An accident that ended the first withdrawn, and the second losing several positions. Itis not clear who was responsible for such nonsense. There are opinions for all tastes, that if Vettel risked more than enough and got the nose where it could not be or if Webber sinned hard with his own partner. Red Bull had part of his star in the making, nothing something that did not sit well at the Australian. It failed to clear its disagreement with the conduct of the team in the Grand Prize of Great Britain. His words after achieving victory were "does is not bad for a second pilot, eh?".
At 34 years old and facing the final stretch of his career in formula one, Mark Webber again surely have options to fight for the title. Once again, his main rival is his own teammate, Sebastian Vettel. What I doubt is that finally the Australian withdrawal having achieved the title of world champion. This company has it very complicated, though, who knows if it will succeed?
Mark Webber, the fastest on the first day of tests at Montmeló

The day has had more players, as Sergio Perez which marked a rapid Cronus 1 ' 21 "176 which was later deleted because it was found that he had cut too curved." A story sympathetic, though he has not then shot poorly with the fourth with his Sauber-Ferrari C30 and 1'24 "117 as best official time, ahead of Nick Heidfeld with Lotus Renault."

They also shot Paul Di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg with different lots, Paul was sixth ranked as "hulk" stopped the Cronus in ninth place, while that among them are colaban a Lotus-Renault driven with Valsecchi and a Toro Rosso with Buemi driving. Closing the classification Luis Razia Lotus Renault and Jerome D'Ambrosio to the Virgin.
Mark Webber driving amazing Porsche 911 GT2 RS
If you add a spectacular car to a formula one driver we get a spectacular video as a result. If the pilot is Mark webber, who repeatedly demonstrated their good manners at the wheel of car series, sobran words. And add the sports in action is a Porsche 911 GT2 RS power 620CV we get a video full of drifting strokes with an incredible plasticity and spectacular.
It does not much more to enjoy a track that looks to be quite cold. Frio may not characterize the Australian that leaves fortunate companions with printing side. And we must be an unforgettable experience give a round of co-pilot in a sporty "piloted" by one of the protagonists of the great circus. I instead give me a back delighted at the controls of this beast in Stuttgart.
Webber is positive with the sensations of the kb7 in Jerez
Of be filming during the first two days of testing in Jerez, the Australian pilot for Red Bull Mark Webber has shown positive performance Red Bull kb7.
"Everything went very well." "We have been able to remove our programme as planned," said the Australian.
"The first day we had a small problem, but the car is working properly."
With the slogan to test the implementation of the kb7 to optimize their performance with the new Pirelli tires, Webber sees that the greatest challenge facing the team over the new rear spoiler or the KERS.
"I am surprised how lap times vary depending on the tyres." "But the question is how the new tyres are working in different circumstances in different teams," said Sebastian Vettel in the official website of F1.
Consulted on the differences in the time per lap in Jerez, Webber explained his impressions: "believe that this time fluctuan with the fuel load and the physical condition of as van tyres, I would say faster cars are Ferrari, McLaren and us."

Webber: Kubica must be patient in his return
In spite of suffering bone fractures recently, Mark Webber has been revealed that he still loves mountain biking.
The Australian pilot was commenting on the new battle facing the Polish driver Robert Kubica to recover from injuries sustained in the terrible accident in rally.
"Compared with Robert, I had a heridita in a finger," said Red Bull driver.
Webber said should not try to stop the F1 drivers extra curricular activities.
"Our perception of risk is different from ordinary people," insisted in an interview with Auto Motor und Sport.
"Firstly, Robert should thank his luck to survive something so it is as a gift from God." "Now it will be the head..."
He will have ups and downs, because after three good days one has to be bad and you you wonder if everything is going to pay.
"You must have patience, and for a racing driver is exactly the worst thing: they are hyperactive and he's going to want to see the progress of each day, as we do with our work".
"He only needs to give the time it takes, he advised Webber.
