The FIA willing to allow the diffuser blown during braking if there is unanimity among the teams

The FIA has given a new twist to the functioning of the blown during braking diffusers. The regulator of the formula one is willing to allow it if the teams agree on that. Agree they want to say that there is unanimity among them. Something which, a priori, seems quite apparently complicated seen.
In this way there is no limitation, 10% or 20% or 50%, would have total freedom to use it. This morning Christian Horner and Adrian Newey were nothing happy once they disregard his request to allow the engine to expel 50% retention. This came motivated by special permission that is the given Mercedes engines so that they can continue pumping gasoline at half of its cylinders with retention.
Red Bull was opposed to this measure because, they argue that the Mercedes get advantage of this fact, to have to somehow remove gases generated in these cylinders which are still in operation, four in total. In yesterday's press conference, Martin Whitmarsh stated that benefits as a result were limited. Christian Horner what matters is that it has its advantages, that is what counts. That is why they protested the decision this morning.
The official statement which can be read on the website of the FIA says:
If the teams so decide unanimously, the FIA is ready to adopt this agreement until the end of the current season.
With the fuss that has been formed, much it will cost a decision unanimous thereon. The twelve teams in formula one would have to row in the same direction. I fear that things look ugly to those who want to lift the ban. As any castling nothing that scratching.

Adrian Newey: "the prohibition of the blown diffuser we affect you much"

This weekend the current use of the Jet diffuser will happen at a better life with the celebration of Grand Prix of Great Britain. The European Grand Prix was the last time where such a system could use. This prohibition does not affect all teams equally, some will become worse than others.
Adrian Newey, technical director of Red Bull, believed that Red Bull kb7 will be seriously affected by the extent of the FIA. The British engineer has indicated that the design of the seat of the team of energy drinks revolves around blown diffuser, so it does not dispose of it are penalized. Remains to be seen to what extent will be affected.
I think that we affect you much because our car design revolves around the blown diffuser, is a key piece of the set. Probably with the exception of Renault and ourselves, the other has copied our design adapting the car in pre-season. Maybe that because of this, to spin our car on the diffuser, suffer more with the ban, although it is difficult to predict it.
Newey did not come to understand what the measure adopted by the FIA has been due:
I'm slightly frustrated because so far it has always been legal. Ferrari probably did not operate at all and they will be happy to lose sight of it.
To who believe? Adrian Newey or Helmut Marko? It should not be forgotten that this last a few days ago indicated that banning just them will damage that they have taken preventive measures.

Red Bull loses 0.5 seconds without blown diffusers: If but not

Helmut Marko things on the one hand and from what little I think I things that they involve technology in Formula 1, loss of performance and other ads when they come from the video team (read Ferrari, McLaren and RedBull Renault even when it's Mass Damper). The man who is behind important decisions in RedBull says that they will lose about half a second per lap from which prohibit blown broadcasters. And all because the aerodynamics will be embittered.
Let's see, if that is the case and there was nothing more, we could start thinking about a second much more disputed part of the Championship, but neither has taken into account to the rest of teams, or it is bearing in mind that there are more things that touch once banned the blown diffuser to think about RedBull is finished. Before proceeding, my impression is that Helmut Marko has done a great joke, but is the second part of the story to tell.

Anyway, we have made some preparations to neutralize this in terms of setup and aerodynamic measures. We are optimistic in the face to maintain our level of benefits
This is what is called a "do not say anything, but I say this to". When we were already thinking in what invest these five tenths second going to lose RedBull, us ends by saying that "gives equal, because we have taken measures". Equally, so seems a preventative to FIA slap (fudge) as a challenge to the rest of teams: "you alegreis not yet, that not we going to achieve".
Whatever it is, so we'll see from Silverstone. I personally do not think the thing to vary much, and in any case could vary as a maximum in the RedBull pass to win Street (with Vettel) to be sentenced to the second or third step of the podium with a victory. Goodbye Championship, goodbye. Measure implemented FIA, but to record anything more.

The Grand Prix of Great Britain will issue a ruling on the blown diffusers

Despite the prohibition of the engine map between classification and career change, there was no expected changes. Theoretically that should leave hurt with the measure, the Red Bull, returned to get a double. Charlie Whiting spoke of half a second difference, but everything seems to indicate that beyond an accounting difference, the secret of Red Bull is beyond of the engine map and rivals and FIA are still without having any idea of what it is.
For Grand Prix of Great Britain, the FIA banned the blown diffusers (expulsion of more than 10% of gases in braking) measure that should have a more negative effect on the single-seater for Milton Keynes but that will have negative effects on all the teams. For this reason, Stefano Domenicali said that Silverstone can see who is the main harmed following the decision of the FIA. It seems that some team leader is not so clear that the prohibition of the FIA will reduce the benefits of Red Bull. Perhaps then we discover some not awaited surprise.

The FIA goes ahead with its plans to ban the blown diffuser

The FIA has confirmed to the teams it won't reverse its decision to ban the diffuser blown this season. Its aim is to have everything ready so that from the award of Great Britain these systems becomes a better life in formula one. The original plan was to have prevented its use from the Grand Prize of Spain, but then had to move back in its intention to prohibit such a system.
In Autosport indicate that they have knowledge that the FIA wrote to the teams on Saturday morning in Montreal commenting them that continued forward with its plans to ban the use of the blown diffusers. The regulatory body shall not be so easily.
As a result of the meeting of the F1 technical working group, on Thursday in London, FIA indicates that it intends to ban them from the Grand Prix of Great Britain and change the technical regulations for 2012 to outlaw them altogether.
Williams, Sam Michael, technical director confirmed that the teams have been informed of this:
The FIA has made very clear its position. Charlie Whiting said that the blown hot and cold will be banned from Silverstone. By 2012 the exhaust system must be behind the rear axle, specifically 330 mm rear, right in the back of the diffuser. This means that leakage will not have any influence on the diffuser.
Charlie Whiting for his part, said that the FIA took letters in the matter because they were concerned to equipment be abusing this detail:
For us it was evident in the wake of the data, which for us was relatively benign was becoming something that was being used, in our opinion, illegally. The purpose of an exhaust system is to expel the gases of the engine, but if when you are not giving gas still working, already not is fulfilling its original mission. It happens to influence the aerodynamic characteristics of the car. We believe that, without a doubt, infringed article 3.15 of the technical regulation.
The question then is, if they have doubts as to its illegality, why they have been slow both in action? In the case of the rear wing of Ferrari took 24 hours to ban it, having previously approved its use. In his view, it violated the "spirit of the rule". On the other hand, with the rear diffusers have gone four Grands Prix, or what is the same, more than a month and a half. And all so happy.
I call that consistency to regulate. In this sense the FIA is second to none. This agency is one of the great evils of formula one. The other is Bernie Ecclestone and his continuing globalization of competition, that does not have another purpose that fill the Pocket regardless of replace mythical circuits by tilkodromos that are clones each other.

The FIA rectified and not prohibited from broadcasters blown in the Grand Prize of Spain

Where I said I say, I say Diego. This is how today has acted the FIA regarding the blown diffusers. If a few days ago we learned that the body would limit the use of diffusers blown from the Grand Prize of Spain, after complaints from the teams, has reculado and will allow the use of intelligent engine maps.
As we have explained in the previous post, this system allows to continue expelling gas at full capacity even when the throttle is not stepped on in the braking. The flow of gases allows extra that the car is follow "sticking" to the ground favorenciendo the grip and increasing the speed of passage through curve. This does not mean that the item has ended completely.
The FIA will explore in a future ban on these systems, but it will consult with the technical working group of formula one that the teams part. Taking into account the million invested by the teams in the development of such systems (in conjunction with the development of new broadcasters) do not believe that the FIA has their vote. For the season that comes it is possible to see some sort of point in the regulation prohibiting them.
