The FIA has given a new twist to the functioning of the blown during braking diffusers. The regulator of the formula one is willing to allow it if the teams agree on that. Agree they want to say that there is unanimity among them. Something which, a priori, seems quite apparently complicated seen.
In this way there is no limitation, 10% or 20% or 50%, would have total freedom to use it. This morning Christian Horner and Adrian Newey were nothing happy once they disregard his request to allow the engine to expel 50% retention. This came motivated by special permission that is the given Mercedes engines so that they can continue pumping gasoline at half of its cylinders with retention.
Red Bull was opposed to this measure because, they argue that the Mercedes get advantage of this fact, to have to somehow remove gases generated in these cylinders which are still in operation, four in total. In yesterday's press conference, Martin Whitmarsh stated that benefits as a result were limited. Christian Horner what matters is that it has its advantages, that is what counts. That is why they protested the decision this morning.
The official statement which can be read on the website of the FIA says:
If the teams so decide unanimously, the FIA is ready to adopt this agreement until the end of the current season.With the fuss that has been formed, much it will cost a decision unanimous thereon. The twelve teams in formula one would have to row in the same direction. I fear that things look ugly to those who want to lift the ban. As any castling nothing that scratching.
