Formula Renault 3.5 Hungaroring 2011: Jean-Eric Vergné completes a perfect weekend

What second race of the Formula Renault 3.5 at Hungaroring , which we saw yesterday! Jean-Eric Vergne won again, completing a perfect weekend. If race saw the French to reduce distances to Robert Wickens, the second has seen him become leader of the general. The podium it completed Albert Costa and Adam Carroll, with good runs.
But not only good careers led them to the podium, and Sergio Canamasas as Robert Wickens, who finished in second and third position respectively, received two penalties in the final result, because their teams loose them boxes at a time considered to be dangerous. A penalty for Sergio, although that would contribute to the success of coast.
The history of the race saw a Sergio Canamasas losing the lead for a successful Vergne, trying to escape from the Spanish. Did not succeed until the arrival of the pit stops, that he gave a small advantage to the Red Bull driver. Albert Costa said that him, for this seems a reward by the penalty received in Monaco, and will offset more than.
Adam Carroll, for its part, has increased his pace when he reported the criminalization Canamasas and Wickens, and he earned the podium by just one-tenth. Had it not been so, we have seen two Spanish pilots on the podium of the Hungarian circuit, although the fourth position of Sergio, along with the third yesterday, he raises until the 11th position of the general.
In addition, nobody can escape that their results have been with a lower car and less media, so in the paddock of the Championship him begins to see as a kind of revelation of the season, above all, being ahead of his teammate in the interim classification of the Championship, which was his main objective at the start of season.
The following quote from the Championship will be in many weeks, the weekend of 19, 20 and 21 August, at Silverstone. With two-thirds of the Championship already disputed, there are just quotes from Silverstone, Paul Ricard and Montmelo. Well sure Jean-Eric Vergne and Robert Wickens, colleagues in the Carlin team, fight for victory, and we hope that our pilots continue to improve.

GP2 Series Monaco: perfect race and victory for Davide Valsecchi

Davide Valsecchi has made a perfect career which has earned a victory in the first race of the GP2 Series at Monaco. It is clear that the events on this track are different, and sometimes have results like this. Valsecchi perhaps not clear was the candidate to fight for the title, but after this race, his "actions" go up in price.
But let's go to the race itself. Valsecchi was dating from the second position, behind Sam Bird. The British had stalled his car, and that has prevented him from fighting for the front positions. Valsecchi was leading a group of cars attached to its tail, which suggested that his career was in jeopardy, threatened by rivals.
Nothing further from the truth. From lap six, the pilot of the Team Air Asia has increased his pace and it has managed to consistently maintain a second and a half ahead of Alvaro Parente, who has finished second. The performance of the pilot of Racing Engineering, replacing Christian Vietoris since the appointment of Spain, is extraordinary.
Good GP2 fans will remember that last year entered the Coloni in Belgium team, replacing Alberto Valerio, and he achieved two podiums in its first weekend of the GP2 for the year. This time has cost him a week-end relatively fair in Spain to adapt to the new car, but is already on the podium again.
Worst luck has had his teammate, Dani Clos. It already came from a delayed position, after problems with the classification, and after a career of comeback, a flat tire has ended his career in the curve of the Grand Hotel, formerly known as Loews, and more previously "Ecoeficientes de la gare", as was the railway station.
In third position is over Luca Filippi, in a demonstration of intelligence or proper use of the strategy, has risen from 11th to the third step of the podium, just to stop pit later than others. But without a doubt, one of the protagonists of the day has been Romain Grosjean, who came from the last position of the grid are output.
The pilot of DAMS has used the same tactic that Filippi, in addition to daring overtaking House brand, clear. Completing the points, we have had to Stefano Coletti, Josef Kral, Max Chilton and Charles Pic. Sam Bird, for its part, has been forced to leave after a touch with Marcus Ericsson, which has ended with both drivers out of the race.
In fact, neither of them has abandoned at the time. Bird has done so after little by the damage received, while in the case of Ericsson has been more spectacular. The Swede has lost the rear wing in the tunnel, causing an accident without consequences, although it has led to the exit of the safety car.
In addition, Jules Bianchi and Giedo van der Garde returned to collide, this time in the chicane after the tunnel of the Monaco circuit. It seems that these two have a special "appreciation". Tomorrow, Pic will come out from the pole, with Chilton in the second position, so the French do well tomorrow. He has been lucky, because Oliver Turvey, who was seventh, was penalized for failing to comply with a drive through.

Rally of Portugal 2011: the play perfect comes to Citroën

Yesterday we mentioned that strategies had reappeared in the world of rally, after the two Citroen yesterday lifted the foot to pass to the Ford and that cleared them the runway. We also knew that Jati-Matti Latvala had tried to do the same, but a communication with his co-driver mistake left him the lead and the difficult ballot during the day of the first exit to the sections.
Thus it has been shown in the first special of the morning, where the French cars have been razed to the ground with the competition and they have placed themselves on the back of the leader, after beating an erratic Mikko Hirvonen conformed with the fourth. Mathew Wilson, who is completing a consistent rally, also exceeded Henning Solberg in a worthy fifth place.
However the controversy would come in the next section. After a prick of Hirvonen, in which he lost almost two minutes, Sebastien Loeb was the cloud of dust left by the Finnish of Ford and I had that lift the foot leaving in that stretch more than half a minute with respect to the time marked by his teammate.

Ogier was still in its task of harassment and shooting down, beating Latvala in the two sections which closed the first loop, stood as the new leader of the Rally. Jari-Matti went on to be second, while a Loeb still in no man's land is located in the last step of the podium. Note finally that the Mini of Armindo Araujo had engine problems and although it remains in the race has been necessary to lower the rate to not break it.

Before formula 1: Ferrari, in search of the perfect birthday present

Italy celebrating a milestone in its history. East 2011, the country is now 150 years old, or what is the same, which makes a century and a half different regions in the South were unified under the same flag. After a few decades, this country would see the birth of which today is probably the best known racing team in the world; Ferrari. Naturally, the Scuderia wants the perfect for "Dad" Italy birthday present.
This gift is obviously what already looked for last year, because a Ferrari with number one on the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy would also have been remarkable. In the end it was not possible, and Ferrari has prepared a new weapon with which expect that Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa can give work to the current champions of Red Bull, as well as other rivals

As every year, Ferrari the sole target is the title, and under as seen during the offseason, is a realistic, since objective that the Italian team has been the one that has given more laps and made more kilometres during the offseason. In addition, the reliability of the Ferrari has been good, so far, and that was one of the weaknesses during the start of last season, so this is already an improvement.
The rivals of the team of Maranello to this 2011 will be, no doubt the two Red Bull drivers, but we could also find the two teams who wear silver, with the McLarens and Mercedes at the foot of the Canyon. Mercedes things paint better than McLaren, but up Australia leave no doubts. In any case, Ferrari have been there during all the preseason, and that is already very good sign.
Both Fernando Alonso as Felipe Massa has been optimistic during his last wheels of the press in Montmelo. Indeed, Fernando said, although very shy, that the objective should be the title and going after him. In addition, the Asturian said expected that Philip is at its height this year, because he recognizes that he had much bad luck, and not just performance problems.

Curious that Fernando will drop, very naturally, that the problem of Philip in 2010 had been, in addition to its own performance, a bad luck that he himself did not suffer. Sure that Massa would be happy to hear those words of his teammate, and as tifossi by Ferrari that I am, I can assure you that I also. Why have just a car ahead when you can have two?
That is what they have to think about Ferrari, and work to make it so. You can understand that at any given time, with one of the pilots out of the fight for the title, the efforts are focused on who can still make it so. But while things are open, the Scuderia is to follow a policy of equality, as it did in 2007 with Raikkonen and the own Massa. At that time, it worked great, thanks to the internal strife in McLaren.
But still I would say more, was somewhat controversial, by the way. If it were the unlikely situation that, for the bad luck that Massa had in 2010, Fernando to remain out of options to fight for the title but the mantuviera… Felipe what would Ferrari? It is clear that Alonso is a pilot "of hunting", and does not support, but I recognize that I am curious to see a facet that would be indedita in the Asturian. Although, of course, if the two options, much better!
