Many things have happened during this last month around the Nupel, Dorribo and Xevi Pons team. As we have always acted in this case the editors of Motorpasion F1, I decided to not delve into a topic that is out of what is purely competition. So this time we are going to continue talking about the competition and the victory of Xevi Pons in the Rias Baixas.
The Catalan now within the discipline of RMC marked the four first scratch of a very warm morning in which the Ford Fiesta S2000 could impose on the GT to the stretch of Mondariz where Miguel Fuster flying and endorsed you more than seven seconds. However what returned to surprise was the bad luck of Alberto Hevia, which already is becoming common.
The Asturian pilot he broke the cable of the accelerator in the first leg and had to withdraw due to second consecutive rally. For its part the Vallejo brothers began the day at a good pace, marking a little worse than Pons times but holding the coup, however, and with the temperature increasing little by little the Lotus lost performance and gradually Sergio Vallejo ceded ground with his head.
The sections of the afternoon favored again to the GT but Xevi Pons "appeared it the Virgin" in the form of rain and hail. This coupled with drivers mounted dry tyres to be the first section after the service Park were a nightmare for the rear-wheel drive. This marked differences and left to Pons with his second consecutive victory and as a leader in the general classification after snatch first place to Miguel Fuster.
Bad luck in exchange for Sergio Vallejo I had to retire due to mechanical in his Lotus, like Victor Senra that you failed engine which had provided the Bamarti also Galician for the competition. Vinyes took the victory between the two-wheel drive, while Marban was first in the Cup EVO. Arias and Luis Perez brothers managed to triumph in the Cup Renault and Suzuki respectively.
