Half of Pirelli compound debuted in the Grand Prize of Canada-free training, and so it seems, the Italian brand has liked the result, and has changed the initial choice of tyres for the European Grand Prix. According to teams, the new compound that binds to the Pirelli family works pretty well, and will be used for the first time in career, along with the soft tyres, which will fulfil the role of Option.
Therefore, Pirelli brings Europe soft compounds (Option) and medium (Prime). Certainly harder compounds which were envisaged in principle help to deal with the heat of the Mediterranean coast, and it is these days in Spain we are having enough heat, so a little more of hardness in the tyres for sure it will be good.
Pirelli explains that the decision to change the compounds and bring the soft and medium instead of the superblando and soft is given not only by the climate, but also by the Valencian asphalt and the layout of the circuit, which considered that it might be very aggressive with the tyres.
