Nick Heidfeld is fully prepared to enter race car in 2011, according to the manager of the German pilot.
Heidfeld for 33 years, near believed he would return to Mercedes as a pilot for this season when his former teammate of BMW, Robert Kubica was seriously injured in an accident in rally.
Now former Sauber driver in 2010, is emerging as a full time favorite to replace Kubica in Renault and will test the R31 in a day and a half in Jerez this weekend.
Heidfeld manager Andre Theuerzeit is confident.
"Nick stayed in shape during the winter, ready to compete," he said.
Theuerzeit indicated that Heidfeld - Mercedes - reserve seat choice is probably more lucrative than the Renault unit.
"Nick is a racing heart and soul." "For him, the race is more important than the money," he said.
Heidfeld insisted that he is relaxed and will not change their normal approach for this test.
"I am not going to slowly build or try to go fast", is quoted by Dutch web f1today.nl. "I do at my pace, which is the best way because that is how I've always done".
"You take me some time adapt to new systems and a new car, but I'm used to this kind of situation," he added Heidfeld.
