Jaime Alguersuari has been forced to leave after a good career, due to an accident in the absence of few laps from the end, when he was already the tenth position. In Monaco, Jaime, who was dating from the 20th position, has decided to be aggressive, with a good strategy and making use of all his talent.
During the entire race, Alguersuari has been clever and has struggled to reach the final with options to get a good result. Although during much of the race he has shot in fifteenth and sixteenth position, the Catalan pilot knew that used tactic would allow him to reach the end close to the group which was fighting for points.
Arriving at lap 71, had already come to that group which was fighting for points, and had left behind to Sebastien Buemi, which assumed several positions ahead of him. But bad luck has been primed with Jaime. Paul di Resta has touched the wall, and that has created a moment of confusion in the group, Hamilton has made an aggressive maneuver and Jaime has followed him.
Unfortunately, Alguersuari has caught incorrectly one of the modified area of the pool, verges and his car has been lifted. Released into the air, it has gone to impact with the guardrails on the other side, leaving no space to Vitaly Petrov and hitting the rear wing of Lewis Hamilton, who has been saved by the hairs.
A real shame, because If the failure of yesterday could argue that it was his, the career of today was also his work, and although the final result does not prove (Moreover, Sebastien Buemi has taken a point), Alguersuari deserved today finish among the top ten. Let us hope that his action not her overlooked in Red Bull.
Within two weeks we're going to Canada, a circuit where last year the Toro Rosso was not bad and where the tires played a key, and being the Bridgestone. A good tactic could lead to a surprising result. Let us hope that Jaime is recovered from the moral blow of this weekend and get a good result soon. What it needs and deserves.
