First words of Kubica: as it is Jakub?

The day after suffering horrific injuries in an accident in rally, Robert Kubica awoke from a coma induced, talked with his father and moved his wounded hand fingers.

The Polish will miss the start of the season and almost surely the rest of the 2011 formula one season, but the early signs are good towards full recovery despite earlier fears that could lose his right hand.

A statement released by his Lotus-Renault F1 team said that "it will take several days before you know if the operation (hand) has been a hit 100 percent".

Kubica for 26 years, again put to sleep on Monday, while doctors consider subsequent surgery for treating fractures elbow and shoulder.

It also has fractures in the leg.

"Kubica is aware," said a spokesman for intensive care of the hospital of Santa Corona. "First thought was his co-pilot and was informed about their State."

The spokesman added that Kubica has "lost much blood" in the accident and its State was "critical", but is now stable.
