The President of the Spanish Automobile Federation, Carlos Gracia, defends his report on the situation in Bahrain, when this was leaked to the public. Grace, which is one of the Vice-Presidents of the FIA, was the person in charge of visiting Bahrain to see if the situation was normal, and wrote a summary of seven pages in which he described the situation in the country.
For starters, Max Mosley challenged the decision, commenting that grace does not speak neither English nor Arabic and that, therefore, the decision had no sense. Grace, for its part, did not want to enter into discussions with the former President of the FIA, and simply say that they saw in Bahrain is complete normalcy; people in shopping malls and working, nothing strange to comment.
He defends himself explaining that, in addition to interviews and official visits, he devoted himself to go down the street to see the real situation, and that everything seemed normal. Even allowed the luxury of describe the Government as an "Open Government that offers the opposition the opportunity to express themselves". Risking me by putting me in marshy ground, I ask me if no matter the dead and tortured, prisoners then.
In fact, seems up to 108 permanent employees of the Bahrain circuit would have been arrested, and since several organizations human rights calls for the Government to stop them working to ensure the recovery of the country. Faced with this situation, formula one teams are against this decision, already official.
One thing is clear; the FIA should not depart the look of what is happening in Bahrain to run anyway, and that knows to Bernie Ecclestone, known for his controversial statements and decisions. If even the good of Bernie, economically interested in that career dispute, said that the situation was not to run, that means that really he can not go.
