The four puncture of Petter Solberg during the day on Friday of the Rally of Portugal indicated that he was not going well. Michelin has looked this year by a very fast tyre, which makes that even these new World Rally Cars are rolling faster than last year, but very soft in his case and that therefore has less resistance in the face of the puncture.
That is why Michelin has decided to spend a wild, by agreement the FIA only allows a change of substance, to prepare a new with the goal of having less puncture. However the controversy comes when apparently the French factory will not spend this unique opportunity that it has received a "special" adoption by the International Federation to have a chance during the year.
Somewhat surprising that we must not forget that this year the free choice of tyres has faced Michelin DMack and expected that brands change compounds with a view to the Rally of Wales, with a very sliding road. In this way the FIA again placed on the side of one of the two manufacturers with such partial vision to which we are accustomed.
