After the incidents in the formula not only Bahrain it has been affected by the cancellations. As I already said my fellow GV27, the last two races of the Championship of the GP2 Asia were also suspended. This a category with very few runs in its schedule obviously affected much more than in the great circus, with 20 test scheduled for this year.
Therefore the Championship organizers have decided to make an additional race. That if, against the policy of the Championship, such a test will take place on European soil, in particular in the circuit of Imola. The race will replace the two that were to be played in Bahrain and will drop the curtain of a rather movidito season.
We needed a week to put everything in order and have the certainty that everything was properly organised, and that we could do something good. That is why we chose Imola and are going to run it an event, which will be the last of the GP2 Asia Series and which will replace the two cancelled events of Bahrain.
