18 February 2001, on the last lap of the Daytona 500 (opening round of the season of NASCAR, and it held today in the 2011 edition) the world of motor racing was losing Dale Earnhardt. Legendary pilot of number 3 was on the circuit on the last lap in the curve 3, when for unknown reasons and going in a row three (promise is no joke) Earnhardt car lost control and failed to make an impact with Sterling Marlin bolide.
As "fell" on the track, it came back up to crash with the wall that delineates. The angle of attack against the wall was such that maximized the effects of a stroke that was visually quite normal as often seen in NASCAR. Why the cluster of fatalities that resulted in the death of Dale Earnhardt is most terrible.

Today is his legacy in the person of Dale Earnhardt Jr., his long career, his seven titles of NASCAR and the memory of a peculiar driver as aggressive and media as cash. The dorsal number 3 you never decoraria a black car decorated by GM Goodwrench.
We are also videos and memories, many lines written on the legendary Dale Earnhardt, and as we do not remember it today putting the video of the accident, we will do with the video for his victory at the Daytona 500. In 1998 he managed to win a test resisted on all things, after 19 participations in the race, and having led twice (in two previous races say) the race to the white flag.
I remember having seen career year that succeeded the tragedy. It was really surprising, no one expected that so gentle blow apparently ended badly. Ten years later he impresses me yet.
