Pat Symonds has returned to F1 as a consultant to Virgin

Discredited former head of engineering of Pat Symonds, Renault has returned to formula one but not in an active role in the paddock.


Symonds this hired as a consultant for Marussia Virgin Racing, still officially part of the team from 2013.

"Pat [Symonds] us is advising as an independent consultant", said Graeme Lowdon, Director of the Virgin of Racing.


Symonds left his position at Renault after known as the crashgate scandal.


Symonds received a ban of five years by being involved in order to Nelson Piquet deliberately crash into the Grand Prize of Singapore in 2008 and encourage the victory of Fernando Alonso Renault at the Grand Prix.
